  1. Boat wrap

I wrapped sailboat in Croatia (read: extreme UV, no moisture in air half of the year). Lasted five years looking good, six more changed color to black (physically burned)… We used MacTac at the time. If you apply it well (correctly) and finishing is done meticulously you should not have the...
  2. Contour Cut Window Perf

Just use cheapest perf cut you can find (thickest, smallest holes) and don’t put any lamination or other sealer crap on it (reason: water/moisture will pool in and look like crap). Disable rear wiper too or tell customer not to use it. Make few copies for replacement and charge that in - when it...
  3. Summa Firmware Uprgrade Continual Fail

Try using Windows 7 machine for update - with USB 1.1 or USB 2 port. Had the same problem, worked for me. Find old PC and give it a go.
  4. Will a properly set up HP 115 latex printer print grainy images?

I have 115 and printer quality is awesome if you’re printing on good quality vinyl, banner or wallpaper. (manual upgrade of firmware required). If you’re using super cheap materials or thiner paper it’s not so good (wrinkles and head strikes). I prefer it over my old trusty Roland VS540i which I...
  5. Polishing the edges of acrylic

Just try to put glue on mated edge. We did it on thick led signs and panels that need to look extremely good (L’Oreal, etc.). Be careful not to drip and do not touch until cured.
  6. Polishing the edges of acrylic

    Glue for acrylic…
  7. Ujf 3042 for braille printing

I did. You just print multiple layers. Speed is slow. Use primer on all materials. Just use Mimaki RIP with it.
  8. Vinyl with strong glue!

First try to treat surface with the open flame for the few seconds. Should do the trick. Do not burn the material, just “lick” it with the open flame. Prvo probaj prec materijal sa otvorenim plamenom. Sekundu ili dvije. 9800 bi trebala drzat nakon toga.
  9. Fustrating hp cutter issue

Open the cutter and see if something (sensor) is bent or out of place.
  10. Very frustrated with cutting. hp 315

@graysquirel If you can't help just read and move on. No need for this. I have the same problem with the cutter and I was able to "fix" or "do workarounds" for my friends with cheap, no name, generic cutters to do an awesome job with small stickers. I couldn't do that with HP Latex 54 --- until...
  11. Very frustrated with cutting. hp 315

BVG - why thumb down? I own machine and I know what it can, and what it can't do. I also owned Roland GX500, GS, PNC, Roland VSi and I never experience this kind of problem. It was always a user error. With HP54 is a lottery. One cut is perfect, the next day the same one starts to "drift" -...
  12. Very frustrated with cutting. hp 315

I have same problem with cutter. Prints are prefect (printed on HP Latex 115) but cut is really bad. 16 years of experience... can't figure it out. Roland did it better.
  13. Calling All HP latex owners

    Yes. 54 inch "basic" one.
  14. Calling All HP latex owners

Print quality is fine if your settings are OK. If it's grainy, then your settings are off (I print small text and stickers with it - better than my old Roland VS540i that I loved). If you want really fine print/smooth graphics, Epson is a way to go. p.s. I think that a properly setup file helps...
