  1. Waste Ink

I know there are different companies that will rent you a container to pour the ink into, then they pick it up periodically to dispose of it. You'd have to find out which companies are in your area.
  2. Roland TrueVIS Cleaning Fluid Cartridge Empty

Hi! Running a VG2-540. I've run out of cartridge cleaning fluid in the middle of the "tray cleaning" process and realized I have no replacement cartridge. Anything I can do to make the printer stop beeping and be able to print while I wait for replacement cartridges to arrive? Thanks!
  3. Gerber Plotter Comparison

Thanks, y'all! Are we the only ones, then, who have a problem keeping vinyl from going off-track with friction-fed plotters? I mean, I can cut 8 or 12 feet on our Graphtec without adjusting, but the Envision sprocket-fed will cut indefinitely long lengths as long as the vinyl edge punch is good...
  4. Gerber Plotter Comparison

Hi! We're looking at getting a new sprocket-feed plotter (we've had an Envision 375 for 20 years). From research I've done, it looks like the two important advantages of the Envision vs. the cheaper models are SPEED and the ARMS that hold the vinyl down, keep it from jumping off the sprockets as...
  5. Question Roland Waiting 24 Hours Before Lamination

I used to wait 24 hours but stopped after some authoritative person said it wasn't necessary (can't remember who). Didn't have any problems doing that...that I KNOW OF. We have a new printer now.
  6. Advice on Roland xc540 problem

We started having this problem at maybe 12 years of printer age. Happened multiple times with different heads, just one side would totally drop out. Our very experienced repair person was never able to figure out why. Multiple parts replaced. The only thing we could do in each instance was...
  7. Question Laminating the hard way; help?

This is my quick and (really not very) dirty method: a vinyl box with 2 cardboard cores resting in the bottom to hold the roll of printed vinyl as it's pulled through the laminator. It's a lot quicker than loading the roll onto a bar that I then would have trouble lifting by myself. I keep a...
  8. Roland Take System Tricks??

I've used narrow strips of sturdy paper or vinyl (also cheap floral ribbon, ha). Tape one end to center of your print, tape the other to your core tube on the takeup.
  9. Epson S60600 maintenance

Yes! Maintenance on this is so minimal and easy. Love it.
  10. Roland Truevis VG2-540 Print/Cut Alignment

Hi! Roland TrueVis VG2-540. This is a fairly new printer to me. I'm having issues (when printing multiple small decals) with the cut progressively drifting off of alignment as it moves to the end of the sheet (I print in "sheets" of about 3 ft length). I've done print/cut alignment adjustments...
  11. Ethernet cable for Roland TrueVis

    I'm just using a generic cable...works fine.
  12. Epson Edge Dashboard

I had this issue last week when a power outage messed with IP addresses. I finally realized that there isn't a way to change the IP in EED, so everything else needs to match the IP shown in EED. Change the IP in all other possible places to match that. I changed it on the computer, on the...
  13. Onyx Conserve media not conserving media

I can trick it sometimes by adjusting "space between copies." Make that distance a little smaller, maybe it will allow the 11x17 to fit. I WISH Onyx allowed more manual adjustment like VersaWorks does.
  14. Longest print you cut on a graphtec accurately

I wouldn't attempt something that long on my Graphtec. I love it, but max I would attempt is MAYBE 20 ft.
  15. Fit Text/Shape to Path

I've used it for years also, including fit text to path. It's a nice feature, but I've never figured out how to make it less "clunky." Seems like earlier versions were a little better with kerning and centering. There IS a centering button... if you make adjustments to kerning first and then hit...
  16. Roland Versaworks Print/Cut Mark?

I have tried creating the registration marks before, being as precise with measurements as I possibly could, but it has always been off just enough to throw everything off. Might work if you're printing/cutting something fairly large where precision isn't as important. I really wish it worked! ;-)
  17. Envision 375 cutting inconsistently

A dumb thing to check... make sure your hold-down bar is in the lowered position on the back of the plotter.
  18. Need Help pinch rollers

I will definitely be getting one of the special tools for myself. I've done it several times with just needlenose pliers and screwdriver, as suggested, but it took me a lot longer than it should have and was very frustrating.
  19. Need Help pinch rollers

Ha, you must have watched the same Youtube video I did. Not very helpful, right? ;-) I'm so glad you asked your question because I didn't realize there is a tool to help install those slippery little things! Amazon has them. They call them "e-clip"s.
  20. Suggestions New Laminator Suggestions 55"+

https://signs101.com/threads/help-cold-laminator-keeps-wrinkling-prints.161350/#post-1499561 This is a pretty good thread on what to do about wrinkles and waves. You might have tried these suggestions already...? Tightening the tension usually helps when I get something like what your photo...
