  1. Help creating font types in Adobe

You can do the refining of your font in Illustrator, but it won't create a font file. You need a different program for that. Pretty good tutorial here.
  2. Flexi/LXI and Gunner Plotters

It's ridiculously hard to find on the SAI website, but Gunner isn't listed in the most recent version of Flexi as far as I can tell. Try contacting either Gunner or SAI directly to ask them.
  3. White or Clear acrylic for push through.

White is what we go with nearly universally, because then the customer won't complain that they can see the LEDs along the edges (when you get the right angle, they're glaringly obvious). This keeps you from having to adding yet another layer of vinyl- the diffuser they're going to want on the...
  4. Rounding corners on Max Metal (ACM) sign panels

As other have said- corner rounders work fine. Remember, the aluminum skin on ACM is approximately aluminum foil thick.
  5. Question What sticks to a Fire Hose?

Haven't personally touched one in a minute, but- from the description you fond via Google- yes, they are. Probably with some extra coatings and abrasion resistance, but the inner lining and canvas sound exactly the same.
  6. Need Help Looking for acrylic header signage holders

Outwater Plastics and MBS Standoffs spring immediately to mind. They have all kinds of stuff you wouldn't expect, and both carry a variety of mounting brackets, holders, etc.
  7. Question What sticks to a Fire Hose?

In my experience (selling those hoses three decades ago), paint is what sticks to fire hoses.
  8. ACM Sign Warping

Over that length (looks like 8'+/-), there's not a lot that won't warp over that length (with what looks like limited attachment points) without some sort of frame, and/or support along the edges. An ACM pan would work, and allow for "hidden" attachments). Alternately, you could put angle or...
  9. 3rd Party LED and Power Supply Testing

I'm by no means an authority, that's just how we test 'em. Someone probably has a much more thorough method, but we don't (usually) need more than that. You might want to make it part of your workflow, if you're doing a lot of that type of work. Like, first thing, open the box/crate/whatever to...
  10. 3rd Party LED and Power Supply Testing

We test our builds by hooking them up and lighting them for a couple of hours to make sure all of the modules are working, that there's no flicker, etc. No real special equipment required- we use an modified extension cord and wire into it temporarily.
  11. Contract installation company

3M has a database of certified wrap installers. Not sure about the other manufacturers, but I'd assume they have something similar. I think there's a fee to access it, but (to me, anyway) that beats hiring someone who ends up not knowing what they're doing.
  12. Cloud Storage?

My mistake. I didn't realize that ownCloud is (from what I see on their site) a way to file share/collaborate. What I don't see there (perhaps I'm missing it) is the backup option. What I mean is, if you're still storing the files on a local computer, and ownCloud allows sharing, but...
  13. Question Vehicle Wrap Labor , Costs & Installers

Not knowing your market, I couldn't say what sort of advertising you could do- other than wrapping your own vehicles with an eye-catching, simple wrap, while realizing there will always be those shops that'll undercut pricing (don't be one of those). Use quality material, and do it right. Now...
  14. Cloud Storage?

While I agree with this as a local solution, and do this myself, I also pay for Carbonite- which constantly backs up my personal laptops and desktop. If one of them craps out, I can still retrieve files. I do use Google as well, but only for temporary storage, or transferring files to the...
  15. Flood coating Acrylic letters with Mactac 9800

I'm also curious as to what you mean by "flood coating".... And also by "large job" (large quantity or large letters?)... If it's a large quantity, I'd find a close acrylic color and offer that to the customer, alternately, I'd paint the letters. For a large quantity, applying vinyl will be a...
  16. Wayfinding signs with lots of small acrylic letters best production method to adhere?

Your method of mounting is the most efficient that I could think of this early in the morning, a third of the way into my coffee, with my router buzzing in the background. I'd also say yes- the adhesive could be "gumming up" the bit. Depending on how you're cutting, you could also be pulling the...
  17. Deciding Between Industrial CNC and ShopSabre

^^^ Everything here is good advice. From every time I've ever been in the market, the tool changer is the item that adds the most to the price, whereas a longer (or wider) table doesn't add nearly as much. Personally, unless I was working exclusively with 4'x8' sheets, I'd get a 5' x 12'. This...
  18. Question Mobile/Laptop Vinyl Cutting Software

I'm a little confused by your question- are you looking for software suggestions to create the vector files, or plot them? With Illustrator, you basically have what you need- just download the Graphtec Cutting Master plug-in. You don't mention what printer you're using for your wraps, but your...
  19. Corrugated Polycarbonate for Sign Letter Tracks

It's V3 fiberglass. Haven't done one with that in a very long time, but I sort of recall getting it from a regular plastic provider.
  20. Brick Vinyl Removal and Install

As to your question, I'd charge an hourly rate rather than a square foot price for the removal. If it comes off easy, then you may "lose" a little revenue, but if you quote a square foot price and it ends up taking a long time, you're going to be in the hole for all of the extra time it takes...
