  1. what is this?

I would hazard a guess that it's a version of Ultraboard.... I've printed on the stuff before but only for indoor use. The outside was styrene and the inside was similar to foamcore but had a bit more umphfff to it.. That or it's some shitty PVC ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ my best guesses without touching it...
  2. Need Help FB700 LC head not filling, not holding ink

They should have replaced the O-Ring with a new cap. but make sure it isn't kinked or anything. That's what ended up causing the leak in ours. Amazing that a tiny leak can cause the amount of issues that it does. Make sure the thermistors clear the "glove o-ring" so they don't get broken for...
  3. Need Help FB700 LC head not filling, not holding ink

I had this problem and it was a Bad O-Ring on the reservoir cap. I tested this theory by cutting a nitrile glove to fit the area in addition to the O-Ring that was already in there. It let me run the entire day with no problems. I got new O-Rings the next day at the store and haven't had a...
  4. Hp Fb700 - Ink Banding

It's really easy. I clamped my low-vac lines so they wouldn't loose any pressure and leak ink, but really if you are above the service station, leaking a little ink isn't the end of the world. Then, you remove the two screws that hold in the solenoid, pop it out, and then put the new one in...
  5. Head Height Adjustments FB700

It should ask you for the length of the media. You can always load a short sheet, manually enter the thickness, then when you go to print something on 48" you can tell it to load new media, when it asks for the media thickness tell it is same as previous.
  6. Camera offset in OptiScout

I'm looking for some help setting my camera offset in Optiscout (6.5) for a Zund L300 cutter. I think its a problem with the camera offset? I'm not for certain. It makes sense seeing as this happened after it bungled up some vinyl and got it lodged underneath the knife and camera area. It will...
  7. URGENT - Faulty HP FB750, Leave on or off?

Don't forget to clean the encoder reader and the home flag sensor. It's a little awkward to get to but canned air with a long straw can get in there. Also make sure all the cables are seated correctly. You can leave it on. When it does it's overnight maintenance it might strand itself in the...
  8. Ink Flaking from Corrugated plastic

We had this happen several years back on a Jeti 3150. We were using 3rd party inks and they did NOT stick to coroplast. Oh it left the shop looking amazing, but customers were bringing back signs on coro where the ink peeled off like in your photos. We didn't use that ink very long before...
  9. Direct printing to Coro

The only time I've had that happen with UV inks is when we were using a thirdparty ink in our Jeti's at my previous job. Construction guys we did the signs for brough the sheets of coro back and you could barely tell we had printed on them! We dumped that ink soon after and went back to OEM...
  10. Head Height Adjustments FB700

I've done this as well. I was hoping someone had like a brilliant 'cheat' like going into the height menu and hit like up up down up down up or something and magically unlock more head height options.
  11. Head Height Adjustments FB700

No idea why I didn't think of this! Thank you.
  12. Head Height Adjustments FB700

On the other presses I have ran, I've been able to manually set the head height to whatever I want letting me run the head really high on warped or wavy stock. On the FB700 tho I'm stuck at .120 head height and can't see a way to run it higher then this. Yeah- I know the higher the head height...
  13. Font ID Please

The numbers are definitely Serpentine. The letters look like Helvetica Black - tho with affect applied etc.
  14. Trying to learn correctly before I run into problems!

I agree. I frequently have to scale things up in the RIP. Some presses have the option to scale something on press, after it's RIP'd - that isn't always the best method, but scaling in the RIP shouldn't be a problem, it's entire purpose is to process images.
  15. Is this correct?

On mine if i open say a tiff file in illustrator, up near my menu bar it will display the resolution when the image is selected. It will do this for anything you have embedded. I don't know how to see the resolution of linked images. And while I'm thinking of it - I can't remember if ti's the...
  16. Is this correct?

The easiest thing is to always start with the highest resolution you can at the scaled size. so if you are making it 1/10 the 720ppi would be the resolution for the scaled image, and when it's enlarged it would be 72ppi. Depending on the original art, what your end application is, viewing...
  17. Floor graphics & laminating

That's a way better size for almost every job we run! The amount of waste we've had off 54" rolls on floor graphic and other materials is stomach twisting!
  18. Floor graphics & laminating

Does anyone have a suggestion for a floor graphic vinyl that doesn't need to be over laminated? I've heard of Alumigraphics but haven't had any to test with and they are rather expensive. We've been using Traffic Graffic from General Formulations with their overlaminate but we have a large...
  19. Hp Fb700 - Ink Banding

You can replace just the solenoid/valve. They are made by Festo. I've attached the label from the box for anyone else who may have a bad solenoid and not want to deal with the whole manifold replacement. Popped that in and back to work, finally. Just in time as well! whew! Once again, thank...
  20. Need Help Digitally Printing Reflective / Removal

I don't think the printing on it affected the adhesiveness, reflective stuff just sucks. Loves to rip on install, then likes to hang around when you want it off. Heat gun and luck is what we've used for removal. Will have to give a steamer a try next time. Thanks for the idea
