No. It is ink ID board exactly. The sticker on cartridge looks like mirror self-adhesive vinyl about 5x5 cm with black squares about 1x1 cm. The sensor detect reflection difference depends on square location and the printer accepts the cartridge. Low ink sensor located under ink ID board.

The printer does not have smartcards on the cartridges. Just optical recognition by label (mirror and black squares). You can made them very easy.

I can not agree with you. The InkEnd sensor is a micro-switch what just 2 state: opened or closed. So, it impossible to recognise ink near end or Ink end. When the flag touches the sensor, the ink counter on card reduces do 5%. After that it just count from this amount to zero. Then it says...

It has a sensor like a flag in plastic adapter for pouch. It goes out and press to InkEnd sensor when pouch is empty. Sometimes it erase ink volume on card, sometime not.

Usualy with bulk system that part is broken because cheap bulk cartridges bigger a little than original. If it broken, it tells to the printer ink is near end. So, the printer reduce ink volume...

The printhead has 8 ink channels. And, you can see 8 ink pipes which comes to dampers. But only 4 dampers installed. So, every damper has two independent ink channels. The printhead should not touch the wiper. Try to replace it. But use original one. Bacause some substitutes can have bigger size...

What is your original ink? I mean ink series. Most cases it is not firmware problem.

Some antivirus software can cause this kind of problem. Try to disable if you have it.
