Graphtec fc7000 mk2-60

I've been using the graphtec fc7000 mk2-60 for quite a while and all up until a few weeks ago, it's worked great. However, it just stopped working. I'm using flexisign and production manager. Now when I try to cut any vinyl or even try a test cut, it says cannot open port. I can't find the plotter in the windows device manager now either. I've reinstalled flexisign and the device drivers and also tried it on a different computer. I believe it's the graphtec hardware. Recently, there was a thubderstorm in my area and I believe it took out my internet modem, the Ethernet port on my computer and now the plotter. I don't see any physical damage to anything inside the plotter. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure the plotter is set to HPGL still, that's my first and only guess before calling a professional

I assume HPGL is correct for Flexi,

Have you opened it up and checked all fuses? Surge protection devices? Too simple I know, but.... sometimes one forgets the simple stuff before calling in the big dogs.

I called advantage sign supply. They said it's too old of a model to service and I should pretty much buy a new one. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice.

Anthony not sure if you fixed your issue yet.

I have an even older machine fc7000 - 100 and had that issue. I got the same answers. Buy a new machine. Well the machine works. So,, its time for a new one.

After digging a little deeper I found that the graphtec driver was updated and I had to try and find an old driver to get things working again.

After deleting the updated driver and installing the old driver I was back up and running.

Worth a try.

Thanks. I already bought a new one.
