This piece is called 'The Cross Keys', This particular sign consisted of more then 1,300 cut-vinyl pieces (a figure that was inflated by the large number of individual scales on the snakes) yet it only used ten colours - comparatively few for such a sign. Everything is cut-vinyl. Points of interest include the use of a subtle background to create depth (giving the effect of a background out of focus) and a specially designed key and snake combination that when mirrored would ensure the snakes interlocked correctly. As with all 'Exhibition Grade' signs - this piece was designed by me, created from hand drawn original elements and then compiled direct to screen using just a mouse.
