  1. Retractable Banner Stand PET Wrinkling After Curing

We switched to Epson resin printers a little over a year ago and a few materials did need some extra calibration and this was one of them. Similar issue mentioned earlier. Either too hot and wrinkled or not hot enough and not cured fully. The print manager was able to get the passes, temp and...
  2. Retractable Banner Stand PET Wrinkling After Curing

Hi everyone and thank you in advance for your advice. I have been in this business for 10 years and this site has been a great resource throughout the years. We recently produced and replaced (5) large PET banner stand graphics. The panels came off the printer looking great, cured overnight and...
  3. 3rd Party LED and Power Supply Testing

    That sounds about right.
  4. 3rd Party LED and Power Supply Testing

Ha, the names are great. The extension cord method works fine. I just didn't know if anyone used any equipment that both lit the LEDs and tested the amperage/power levels.
  5. 3rd Party LED and Power Supply Testing

This is the technique we have used in the past. Didn't know if there was a more standard practice out there.
  6. 3rd Party LED and Power Supply Testing

Hello All. I have a quick question that I have been unable to find an answer to on my 101 searches. Our sign company is tasked with installing 3rd party signage more and more every year and I was hoping for some advice on what piece of equipment would work best to test LEDs and power supplies...
  7. Summa Missed Cuts

On a side note, has anyone here come up with a good solution for vinyl bunching up on long runs? Sometimes when a run gets jammed up it can send the sheet askew, ruining the run. We have considered adding some pvc extensions to the cut bed to allow everything to slide more freely, but definitely...
  8. Summa Missed Cuts

It does sound like we usually use the paneling mode on most runs, with the idea that it helps with tracking, so we can try without. We're concerned with tracking issues, but it has to be better than this. Thank you for the advice.
  9. Summa Missed Cuts

Thank you. I will share this with my print techs.
  10. Summa Missed Cuts

My tech says he cuts at a slow setting and the marks are usually 18"-20" apart.
  11. Summa Missed Cuts

Thank you. That is something we have been trying to do while we figure this out. We have definitely been loading up on bleed until the issue is resolved, but aside from the extra ink consumption, there are still issues on non-solid colors/patterns and colors that run too close to one another.
  12. Summa Missed Cuts

Thank you in advance for your help with this issue. Our Summa S2 T160 has had multiple problems throughout it's time with us and it is hard to determine whether it is an Onyx issue or a Summa issue or just a lack of knowledge on our end. We have had countless re-prints because of tracking...
  13. Backlit Vinyl Bubbling After 3 Years

Well, mystery solved. One of our techs (now former tech) failed to remove the protective sheeting before applying the backlit vinyl . The good news is, I can stop banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what went wrong and as a bonus, this was the easiest vinyl removal in...
  14. Backlit Vinyl Bubbling After 3 Years

That was a lot of information. Thank you. We follow most of this, more or less, with the exception of the drying of the Polycarbonate prior to application. We can certainly start removing the protective sheeting as soon as the boards come in, but I wonder what the process is to bring the temp to...
  15. Backlit Vinyl Bubbling After 3 Years

Good suggestion. We do print on an opaque film, but none of our printers have the ability to print white, so we don't have much choice in the matter. They are a good client with many locations, so I am teetering between free and at cost.
