what printer do you have?

I've put a vinyl backer on engraving stock in the past to have a surface that VHB sticks to well. Test it first of course.

Your dealer will be able to give you this document. They should have gone through all of the maintenance tasks during your training.

It may have been recommended to give the vinyl more rigidity for install. I agree with the others though, functionally, there's no reason to laminate it.

Mimaki and Onyx are working together on new profiles for printers. I believe that onyx will handle it, but since they have to build those profiles for each printer, they may not have the UCJV in the queue yet. You could call Onyx directly and ask them about Mimaki.

The only caveat I would add is to print to Optically Clear laminate if they want to retain the clarity of the view through the perf when applied.

Take a look at Nikkalite. I don't have experience with the Roland, but the UCJV should be able to print on it. If it's for a regulated traffic sign, you'll need to sub out to someone that has a 3M/Avery (and others) that is a certified ink/printer/reflective sheeting print provider.

Are you sure its ink that is in the holes? Was it laminated? You said it was red/black ink... do you see any red ink migrating to the holes as well. I suspect that if its not laminated, that there may be debris, pollution, or something that has accumulated in the holes. Do you see it...
