No that cannot be the reason. The trial edition of Find my Font identifies exactly the same fonts as the Pro edition. Most probably you didn't select the letters properly. Since the text is on an arc, you have to 'horizontalize' the image first. See my screenshot for assistance.
We would really appreciate it if you could send us an email with details on the crash such as OS, version, steps to reproduce etc.
This would help us improve the app and it could possibly also help others having the same issue.

You may get a second license if you don't use the two devices at the same time (ie home-office, office-on the road). Send us an email if that's your case.
When you're not at the office you may always use Find my Font mobile.
Since you're a registered owner of Find my Font Pro you also have unlimited use of the mobile version. If you haven't linked your Pro with your mobile, here's a guide on how to do it.
You can't find it on 'What The Font' because it's a free (for personal use) font. 'What The Font' does not identify free fonts.

Find my Font mobile is available for Android. Search for Find my Font on Google Play.
As a matter of fact the screen shots I posted in my initial reply were taken on my Huawei (Android) phone.
There's a Free edition for your PC too. It's a 30 day limited edition though.
The phone app gives you only 2 free matches every 48 hrs. If you're a professional you need to buy more credit for a small fee, or buy the desktop (PC) edition and get unlimited matches on your phone for free.

The image is of very good quality so I was puzzled when you mentioned that Find my Font doesn't show anything.
