  1. Are you guys finding it harder and harder to actually talk to a customer?

I get around the No Solicitation sign by explaining that I am not there to sell anything, just to simply introduce myself to the person that would be responsible for purchasing signs in the future. I want to meet with that person so that they can put a face to a name should they need anything in...
  2. For Sale 1998 Chevy Bucket Truck

It does not have hydraulic outriggers but it does have "slide out and pin" riggers. Its a gasser, I didn't want to deal with diesel and I figured if anything went wrong there are Chevy 350 engines in every back yard. I'm definitely going to miss it but my business is going in more of a...
  3. For Sale 1998 Chevy Bucket Truck

Up for sale is my bucket truck. I bought it about 2 years ago with plans to do sign face replacements, bulb changes, sign hanging, banners, etc. I just haven't got the sales to justify making the payment every month and want to see it go to a good home. 1998 Chevrolet 3500 $24,500 o.b.o...
  4. Working Efficiently and respecting shop property

I put a thin line of paint on my tools and color code then by area. Red tools stay in the production area, yellow on the truck, green in the welding shop. Tools may be borrowed from other areas but they go back where they came from. Really cuts down on time looking for tools next time they are...
  5. Review New logo and website

Its very dated. It reminds me of Lisa Frank school supplies in the early 90's. I think the super hero drawing is good, but the background and text is tired and should be modernized.
  6. Question Ever use a Nail Gun for install?

I would feel safer with screws. However if you are concerned about starting the first couple screws then you could tack the board with nails then follow up with screws.
  7. My first wrap

How? If you look at the panel shape of that vehicle its not like a deep hard V shape. Use cast film, work it in and post heat and you're not going to get a failure on this body panel.
  8. My first wrap

You're trying to make this harder than it has to be. Just squeegee it up the side of the van like normal. Then apply a little heat and push it into the channel.
  9. Client wants to Puchase a (re)design

Give them the files without an extra charge or you will lose future business and they will bad mouth you to others. For the future you should have the customer sign a contract that states what you charge for different services, purchasing artwork to take elsewhere, deposits, payment terms, etc...
  10. L26500 Grey printing problem

Are the products laminated? I've seen great colors off the printer turn green after laminate has been applied.
  11. About Subscription Software...

Nobody is complaining about the price, and you are being dismissive to their concerns. This thread is called "About subscription software..." (not "Is this price worth it to you?") and has a poll asking how everyone feels about subscription based software. As of now it stands at 3 Yays, 18 Nays...
  12. Discussion Scammer on here

I got the same email. Told him $895 for a banner and I need to cash his US Money Order before working on it.
  13. About Subscription Software...

I like the idea of subscriptions for the fact that its always updated. And for starting out its financially easier to subscribe to 3 $20 pieces of software than it is to purchase 3 $600 licenses. Where people are coming from when they talk about "buying" software is that many shops buy a...
  14. Awning Replacement

You will want to sub it out. I do awning work and its definitely its own art form to learn. But since you asked heres what you need: Fabric pliers, cloth shears, appropriate staple gun, air hammer and air compressor. 2 dozen welding clamps. Staples, fabric, and zip strip. Steps: remove egg...
  15. What do you guys use for self promo?

If you go with hats they have to be nice. I can't count the number of junk hats I've tossed because they fit poorly or look dumb. When I find the right hat I wear it until its so dirty I'm forced to toss it. Most hat guys are the same way.
