Weather, temps and the products that they put on our roads for snow and ice these days could certainly play a part I would think. We do have extreme temp changes here from winter to summer sometimes day to day. I try to keep vehicles inside my heated shop for at least several hours to a day...
Hello, I have not posted on here for quite some time. For those that don't know or remember I have been in the sign business for almost 40 years and have been cutting vinyl for a long time. I had major problems with the Avery vinyl failure of 2004.
I have been a long time Oracal user before and...
I have given specific cmyk numbers in the past and have had good results.
I could give the printer cmyk for the solid colors on the sample, but for instance the pink camo / red-white & blue stuff was just something I found on line. It looks great on my monitor, it looks good when I print it...
I outsource printing. I use Signlab 9.
I currently use the oracal 651 color pallet as a default.
I have been using the "publish to PDF" option when exporting files to send to different printers.
I sent this file to one of my printers as a color test.
It was printed on Avery MPI...
My town is home to a Chrysler assembly plant. This is not the first time I have seen factory lettered vehicles setting on the lot . . .a few here . . . a few there. This time there were 200-300 sitting there all lettered up.
Mostly United Rentals & Donan but others as well.
I know...
Ours is a 2' x 4' light fixture recessed into a 30" x 10' vinyl cutting/weeding/trans masking bench covered with a cutting mat. Works great for layered stuff . . . we mostly use it to cut reg marks.
"Really like that droplet of water on there."
Thank you .
"I know you didn't take kindly to this before, since it's after the fact, but I would've liked to see a slightly darker hue of blue. Otherwise, great work in my book."
I don't mind input. I'm not sure the photos do the colors...
. . .In with the new
Not as drastic of change as the police car I recently posted. We changed their logo / brand a little, but mostly I finely talked the customer into doing away with all the sub copy and splashes on the sides.

I'm not sure if I could come up with photos of this car's build, but if you're interested go to Hopperstad Customs on Facebook . . . Kerry Hopperstad's talent and abilities are second to none ! ! !
Edit - If you go to "photos" on his FB page there are a few photos of this car along with the...
I just stumbled onto the photos of a project I helped on a few years ago and thought I would share them here.
I am fortunate to have one of the most talented hot rod builders in the country reside in my hometown, Kerry Hopperstad - Hopperstad Customs.
With a concept drawing of the...
First, when I read “beveled look”, I thought you were referring to the outline being beveled. There was recently a lengthy discussion on another forum regarding the name of the letter style you displayed. I have known that to be called a convex letter.
I am a big fan and use convex letter...
I sort of mislead with my "No money in the bank" comment. I did, as usual, receive 1/2 down for these cars. I was referring to the balance at the end, as it is obviously most of the profit from the job.
