We have now attempted dozens of times to key in the updated sequence to access the Service Mode on our Roland sg-540 to no avail. SERVICE MODE PROTECTED Message pops up. I found a youtube video and it appears pretty straight forward, but my printer is not cooperating. Is there a chance the Key...
UPDATE;
Back to the same error message and now machine will not print. Advised it is NOT the senor for the damper on the printhead. Unfortunately it did not occur to me to keep the parts removed, so I may have trashed perfectly good working parts ($72+) and several hours of work to replace. :(...
UPDATE:
Many thanks for the help! Turns out the Sensor Interrupter (OJ-535S-A5) was the culprit. After speaking to Denco Tech Support, who I had the good fortune of reaching by phone - I was advised it could be the RFID-MODULE for the Magenta and/or the Sensor Interrupter. After removing...

Searched for troubleshooting tips and took the following steps:
turned printer off
unplugged printer
Waited 5-minutes
Plugged back in
Turned back on
New message on panel screen reads 1| 2_|3|4| with 2_ (underscore flashing...

Will Attempt it! Thanks so much!
UPDATE: Thanks to another tip from KatePhillips I was able to skip the above course of action and the printer is printing fine. Please review my reply to Kate Phillips for the actions I took to get the printer back online and printing again! Great tip!
Was sure hoping the Firmware update with the Damper Fill would get me back up and running. Really frustrated that now the printer does not recognize the magenta ink cartridge at all. I am not sure what to look for in order to trouble shoot the sensor tab on the ink pouch. Any assistance is...
Confirmed updated Firmware to 4.1 which was suppose to allow me access to the DAMPER FILL mode, which then caused the Magenta to need replacement and the pouch is 1/2 FULL. Replaced with new pouch and now does NOT recognize the magenta at all.
We upgraded to the TR2 a couple months ago and all seemed well. 2-weeks ago the printer started spewing ink. I was instructed to do a damper fill which took several attempts to get into the submenu damper fill. When I finally got to it - the panel stated to replace the magenta ink - WHICH WAS...
