  1. Don't know how to appraoch this..........................................................

Any device that burns a carbon-based fuel uses up oxygen and releases carbon monoxide, which is a killer. The danger is that CO cannot be detected by smell, taste or sight. For many victims, by the time you realise you are being affected (poisoned) by it, it's too late. Many have died when they...
  2. Best way to re-do this wrap

Is that what passes for good design & layout these days?
  3. Replicated Worn-Off Hand Lettering

Another sad day for us old-time signwriters...
  4. Font ID, please

I'm not able to find this font and ask for assistance, please. It might be created by hand but I'd like to find a file that's as close as possible. TIA
  5. Sprocket-fed Heat Transfer Vinyl

Is there a source for sprocket-fed heat transfer vinyl (HTV) for the Gerber plotters? Preferably in Canada or US. I did try the search function first, but no luck there.
  6. New Roland VG2 - VG3 - SG2 - SG3 USERS -buyer beware, you cannot fix your own machine.

All those sign shops see are big dollars when I walk in. I can make my own signs at home so why pay them? Lol But I get your point. The auto industry fights hard to protect its right to repair. But I don't think anybody fixes there own electronic diagnostic equipment.

  8. HDU Sign Failure: Any reason the installation would be the reason for the failure?

It looks like the back face was painted first, then glued. The strength of the bond is only as good as the weakest link and in your case, it looks like the bond between the paint and the HDU was the weak point. Hard to see, even with the minimum mounting used, how the sign would have just fallen...
  9. Suggestions Looking for a flatbed printer

    Now that's a thorough response!
  10. Client refusing payment

Yeah, I got the reason for not removing an installed sign. I thought I was playing along with the joke of the bat and gun, thinking it's a sight gag. It turns out it's not a joke. Wow, who knows what will happen when you crazy Americans pull out the weapons!
  11. Client refusing payment

And pulling out a Louisville and .357 isn't way over the line?

  13. Client refusing payment

I've changed the names to protect the guilty. Years ago, I get a call to do a couple driveway entry signs for a restaurant's new owners. Pretty small job. Vlad is the contact person. Signs get done and installed on existing posts, all according to the request, exactly as ordered. I find out that...
  14. Client refusing payment

Didn't you just say how taking a sign down was way over the line and "pretty stupid"? lol
  15. Just venting - VG series

The North American auto industry (I'm thinking GM to a large part - but not exclusively) has followed that plan for decades.
