  1. Question Brushing Aluminum

Hi All, I have a job coming up that will require about 295 pieces of brushed aluminum (then anodized) plate. Normally we just do this by hand since we never usually have quantities this big.... Trying to think of a way to save time on this one, since it doesn't seem that you can buy pre brushed...
  2. 3D Printer for Braille?

Morning, Was just looking at Braille machines and had a thought, wondering if a 3D printer would work for this. I don't do enough braille to justify spending 5k on a braille machine, but I have always wanted a 3D printer. Has anyone tried this?
  3. Qomolangma Printers?

Couldn't agree more, thing is.... we can afford it. It's the "save a $ here, make a $ there" mentality that I am trying to break. I would rather have zero issues and put out a good product consistently, then try to save a $ upfront and run the risk of re doing things multiple times. Now I have...
  4. Qomolangma Printers?

Hi, My company (boss) is looking at buying a Qomolangma 40"x60" Flatbed UV printer. Does anyone have any experience with these? being from China I am worried about compatibility, quality and of course service possibilities. I'm not convinced for the small amount saved that this is the best...
  5. Suggestions Sign Boxes / Cabinets

Haven't tried Dual Lock before, I will look into it! thanks!
  6. Suggestions Sign Boxes / Cabinets

Oooh what a nightmare! That's why we never install anything we haven't made ourselves! Thanks for everything.
  7. Suggestions Sign Boxes / Cabinets

They will be internally illuminated, installed on concrete pads with wiring run through to those locations from inside. Basically they are wayfinding directories for a strip mall. (a couple tenant logos and name of mall will be illuminated with push through acrylic) That's exactly what I was...
  8. Suggestions Sign Boxes / Cabinets

Oops, forgot to mention that. Yes, exterior.
  9. Suggestions Sign Boxes / Cabinets

I'm making a few free standing sign boxes, welded 1"x1" aluminum frame structures. normally we would just break thin gauge aluminum and screw that in from the side. Customer is wanting completely seamless with no mounting screws showing. Other than just covering them up and being sneaky...
  10. Time for a new proof sheet - any tips?

WOAH! that looks exactly what I looking for, I'm going to hunt for this post.
  11. Time for a new proof sheet - any tips?

Yes, the dream is to have a tablet or something at every station with a program that can have people mark jobs as in progress or completed. (without that costing lots :D)
  12. Time for a new proof sheet - any tips?

We do most of our work in Corel Draw, we have a template set up for drawings that we just insert and boom done. Also use the same for sheets that go into the shop (paint, fabrication, laser, waterjet sheets) I'm looking for an alternative for those since I don't like tons of paper floating around.
  13. How do I destroy this sign?

This is one of the times I would use the good ole "BRICK TO BE REMOVED BY OTHERS" tactic on a quote :)
  14. Need Help How do you convince a local bank their logo looks like a DAYCARE?

Ugh, I know the feeling well. Some people who have the power to decide SHOULD NOT be deciding. Just did the lobby of an apartment building, two channel letter signs (one yellow and one green) then one pink neon sign and one cyan neon sign. ALL IN THE SAME ROOM! it hurt my head.....
  15. New logo from up north - way up north.

I love the logo! just not sure it's fitting for a sports team.... but that's just me.
