  1. MultiCam issue - error code?

Just tried to do some .090 aluminum sheet and I got a code on this machine for the first time ever. Multicam 3000 series shows a "SYSTEM INTERRUPT: INVTR FAULT #1. OUTPUT PHASE LOSS (LF)" Obviously something to do with the inverter, which also shows an "LF" alarm on its screen as well. Has...
  2. I need recommendations for a new printer

We just set up a new HP Latex 700 and we are really liking it so far. We don't have it set up to print white but I know it is capable of it.
  3. chrome wrap

Yeah chrome deletes SUCK. I can do multiple hood blackouts in the time it takes to black out the trim on one car. Customers always ask why they cost so much.
  4. Question Is there a perforated channel letter coil available?

Hey all, been a while. We have a customer who wants a channel letter with a lighted return. I know I've seen a few examples here and there of perforated metal returns on channel letters - does anyone know if there is a coil available for that? We make all our letters in-house, we have an SDS...
  5. Question EnRoute 4

Thanks everyone for the replies. Sorry for the late response, my old email was compromised and it took me forever to get everything associated with it changed over. I'm probably still missing a few things.
  6. Question EnRoute 4

What's up all, looks like I'm back in the sign business. Stepped in for a friend that was injured in an accident and I'm back at the first shop I spent 17 years at. Anyway, the boss asked me to look into some upgrades for some of our PCs and the machine running our CNC router (Multicam 3000...
  7. Haven't posted in a while....got some catching up to do

Insurance repair on this really nicely done Audi A7. 3M Satin Smoldering Red. He's coming back for Carbon accents next month. Can't take credit for the original wrap, owner bought the vehicle in Georgia but the work is nicely done. Starting to show a little wear but holding up well.
  8. Painting awnings

One other thing I forgot to mention - on your first coat of paint in the masks, use a color similar to the awning. That way the paint will keep subsequent coats from bleeding out and minimize the amount of touchups you might have to do.
  9. Painting awnings

Painting is really the only way to go on Sunbrella fabric. At my old shop we always used a single stage enamel paint, bulletin enamel or 1-Shot works just fine. Usually takes a couple of coats, the first one will just soak in. We would use a high tack vinyl for the mask, as paintmask will NOT...
  10. 1974 Corvette Stingray

Thank you! To be honest, 95% of it has been on the job training. I've done a ton of partial wraps for commercial vehicles, this isn't too different. It's just shooting for a higher level of detail and finish. This car actually wasn't as difficult as I was afraid it would be. It's a pretty...
  11. Installing Avery Conform Chrome Matte Silver

I know with the 3M chrome they recommend some sort of special lubricant for the squeegee after you remove the protective layer. Not sure if the Avery is the same way. Please keep us posted on how it goes - I'm curious about the chrome wrap vinyl myself.
  12. 1974 Corvette Stingray

Lol the only thing we painted were the headlight bezels. Luckily found a really good match to the vinyl.
  13. We are thinking of getting a CNC Router, but This was interesting

MultiCams are indeed awesome. My old shop has a 5x12 with 8 tool changer, it's fantastic.
  14. Started at a new shop recently....

Posted the next one I did in the portfolio thread - 1974 Corvette Stingray. https://signs101.com/threads/1974-corvette-stingray.154452/
  15. 1974 Corvette Stingray

Avery Gloss White Pearl base wrap with printed/plotted American flag quarter panel graphics. This one was a lot of fun to do!
