I found that happened on certain medias... try playing with temperature and the number of passes, if I recall right we saw that decrease at 32 pass and a high temperature.
Is it a full registration skew, maybe? My best guess is also offset - besides the blade offset values, there are also TP offset values that can affect registration...
When you are sending the plotting data from Finecut 8 you should be able to select which registration marks it looks for - it sounds like right now it's just set to look for one. Reference the manual (https://mimaki.com/archives/034/201909/D201812-30_CG-FXII_PlusOperationManual_e.pdf) starting...
You should be able to shut it off as you need, though many functions of the printer will cause it to reactivate - adjusting feed position, sending a new job, mounting a new roll, etc.
We run two CJV150 machines and a SRIII plotter. It's a great option to have for jobs that don't need lamination, but ultimately I do find it more productive to just have the CJVs printing and then the plotter handling almost all of our cutting - print/cut only for specific jobs where it's been...
I've got a UV with white ink too. If a flat/smooth white is what you're after (UV tends to create a raised, more tactile print), I also have access to a Gerber which uses resin foils, and has a super thin abrasion guard laminate option. PM if you're interested!
What I do is set up a 'tile' (about a letter sized sheet) with my decals imposed on that. Artwork on one layer, CutContour on another.

If the cartridge is lowering, whirring, and not grabbing, I've found it helps to 'tug' the cartridge towards the clip on the user side.'
