  1. First 3D letter sign, How to attach?

The Gemini letters (plastic) come with mounting points made into them for studs to go into. You can use the threaded rod from these points and go through the dibond and put a nut on it. The template we have mentioned will come with the letter shapes printed on it properly kerned and also have...
  2. First 3D letter sign, How to attach?

If you On Gemini's web site and under sign components you will find mounting supplies. Most everything is listed there. I would stud mount them through the Dibond if it does not have to be flush with the building. The template that Jill suggested is a huge help and a time saver. Jimmy
  3. Hand Carved & CNC Carved Sign project

Looks nice. I like your carving area. Jimmy
  4. Going to semi retire.

Been a while since I was an active part of the forum and I have missed the group. I have had some back problems this year and ended up getting rods and screws put in it to try and fix it. While all this as going on I greatly scaled back on what I was doing on the sign side of things and I think...
  5. Flying To Florida For The Last Space Shuttle Launch - Tips?

I have been to two and since I am "well connected" as it was put above I watched both from the launch control building next to the VAB. The view is good but even there you are 3 miles out. The sound is insane, the ground shakes and the VAB seems to stop it and dump it on you. It is something you...
  6. 5th Wheel decals

I have don a few and found good pictures to work from on the rv for sale sites. Jimmy
  7. Summa DC4 Question

I have a DC4SX and would suggest you call Summa and have them print some files for you. You can get some samples of the type of work you do printed and they will send them to you. That is the best way to see if you are going to get the results you want based on the type of work you do. There was...
  8. Ioline 24"

I have a 30" super 88 that worked fine when it got put into storage. Make you a good deal on it. Jimmy
  9. Does your artwork fee mean you hand ownership to customer?

For me it depends on what I was asked to do. If I was given poor quality artwork or asked to make it look like what they have now then the charge is to fix what ever they gave me so I can do the work for them and they don't get a copy. If I am asked to design something for them and they pay me...
  10. Tuscano Script, Ace High... NOW AVAILABLE!

Steve I have the set of 33 and want to get the rest of them for a complete package. Any thoughts of a package that has the ones not in the 33 set? Thanks Jimmy
  11. Matte or Mirror Gold ribbon

I have thought about adding the mat gold but then $300 plus price tag for the ribbon and cart are keeping me from it. I use the mirror silver and it's not bad, I would think the gold would be about the same. The silver also looses some of it's shine as the angle changes. Jimmy
  12. Hello from Va.

Welcome from just up the road. You will like it here. If these guys don't know the answer then there is not one. Jimmy
  13. What is your weekend/2nd car?

Well rode the weekend ride to work this morning 05 Ultra. Its 45 here so not bad at all. Just picked up a 65 Chevy truck that is apart getting bagged and a full suspension update and it will be my new daily driver. Jimmy
  14. TechEd teacher looking to expand Signmaking Module

It's good that you are trying to help expand the module to improve what they learn. Not sure what is in it but here are my suggestions. 1 Teach them some layout basics. 2 Teach them about color and the use of color. 3 Hands on of basic sign making skills. Weeding, taping and install skills for...
  15. Summa DC4 Printer

Do a search here for discussions on this printer. I have one and they work well for what they are good at. Make a list up of what it is you want to do with it and look at the pros and cons of the types of printers and the work you need to get done. As far as the print and cut go you will not...
