  1. Wasatch WARNING?

The original likely had an alpha channel or shape/path layer that Wasatch interpreted as another ink channel. Check the "Channels" and "Paths" palettes in Photoshop for any extraneous channels. Also, some Vector Smart Objects can contain extra stuff that can be interpreted as extra channels.
  2. Help with Versaworks

Your cut path was at some point converted to a filled shape. You need to have a single stroke with the CutContour swatch, but what you have is a compound object with a CutContour swatch fill. If the conversion took place in Corel, it should be easy to fix: simply delete one of the lines and...
  3. Caldera issues

Check that you didn't change your input color profile accidentally. If so, set it to to SWOP or GRACoL or if your image is RGB, set it to sRGB or Adobe RGB.
  4. recalibration question

Unless you had printed a calibration target before you put in the new head, you will never be able to get the calibration back to where it was. You can get it back to a known state, but there is no way to tell what the old state was. If you are using stock profiles and configurations, there's no...
  5. Mimaki JV33 "Special Firmware"

Good to know. I suppose I'll wait on upgrading firmware, at least until I can get some confirmation on the technicalities of compatibility. As far as your non-oem head, how different could it be from oem? It seems like the only thing separating the two could be a serial number (at least from...
  6. Mimaki JV33 "Special Firmware"

Thanks for the info, SightLine. The reason I ask is because I read That Mimaki recently released a new firmware version for the JV33 (http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?113995-New-JV33-Firmware-with-MAPS) that has MAPS (Mimaki Advanced Pass System) which is basically like a Roland...
  7. Help with Uni-Directional printing

Definitely change your print direction in your RIP. That would be the easiest way. Alternatively, although I'm not sure about the JV3, but on the JV33, you can change the priority of the Print Mode from "All Panel," "All Host," or "Individually." Choose FUNCTION > SETUP > PRIORITY All Panel =...
  8. Mimaki JV33 "Special Firmware"

I have a Mimaki JV33 that apparently has a "special version" of firmware (4.40) that cannot be updated with Mimaki's most recent version of their Firmware Updater application. Does anyone else have a "special version" of Mimaki firmware? What's so special about it, and how can I update it?
  9. New JV33 Firmware with MAPS

According to various news sites, (http://www.printweek.com/print-week/news/1141989/mimaki-announces-jv33-upgrade) Mimaki has just released a new firmware version for the JV33 with the addition of MAPS (Mimaki Advanced Pass System). Has anyone tried this update yet? According to the Firmware...
  10. HP Z6100 Printhead replacement incomplete. Restart it.

The electrical contacts are clean as a whistle. Even if there was air in the lines (which I don't know how it would be possible) that wouldn't affect the printer's ability to register a functional printhead.
  11. HP Z6100 Printhead replacement incomplete. Restart it.

By the way, I did an EEROM Reset as descibed here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01738264&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN Nothing changed.
  12. HP Z6100 Printhead replacement incomplete. Restart it.

I have three HP Z6100's. Today one of them gets an error message to reseat the LcLm printhead (#4). So I reseat it and it still tells me that I need to reseat the faulty printhead. So I install a brand new printhead, and it still says to reseat. I swapped the the two LcLm printheads (#3 & #4)...
  13. d.gen Teleios 100 v6

Does anyone here have experience printing with a d.gen Teleios 100 direct-to-textile dye sublimation printer? I have had one for about 5 years and had nothing but problems with it. It is essentially a Roland SJ-1000 with a heat fixation unit attached to the front and a bulk dye-sub ink system on...
  14. Cut Contour Path question

After offsetting the paths, select the outlines and click the "Unite" button in the Pathfinder palette. This will create one continuous shape.
  15. HP Z6100 printhead lifespan?

The printhead warranty will be fully spent after 1200 mL, but you can realistically get two or three times that without any problems.
