  1. Weeding 3M 2080

Yeah, because they're being applied to vehicles. I've seen the damage sign/craft vinyl can do to paint. We've been using Orajet 3751/3951, Orafol 970ra, etc for 5 or 6 years now with zero issues. The adhesive in this 2080 just behaves completely differently.
  2. Weeding 3M 2080

Quick update, the mask and then weed procedure worked pretty darn well. I'm glad I don't need to do that with every decal we make, but it will work for this material. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
  3. Weeding 3M 2080

These end up being masked decals and sold/shipped to customers, so they have to be weeded prior to application, but I may try a similar method with the mask. Thanks for the suggestion.
  4. Weeding 3M 2080

Anyone using 3M 2080 for cut graphics? I've mostly used Orafol 970ra in the past and after cutting, it's a bit sticky to weed. After about 4 or 5 days of resting, the decals weed extremely easy. However, this 3M 2080 material is horrendous for weeding. I've had some decals (yes, they are small...
  5. Best Material for Commercially Used Agriculture Equipment (Tractors, Mowers, etc...)

I just heard back from a rep with Orafol, the 270 Stoneguard will work with all of the 3951 line, not just 3951HT, so I'll probably stick with that. I feel more comfortable running a 10 year product + laminate. I'll definitely reach out to Substance and get some samples. I'd like to see how it...
  6. Best Material for Commercially Used Agriculture Equipment (Tractors, Mowers, etc...)

Our business model has solely been in automobiles, but we may have an opportunity coming with a tractor manufacturer to sell custom and factory reproduction decals. For automotive decals, we've always used Orajet 3751/3951 with Oraguard 290. For the Ag side, we assumed we would need to go with...
  7. Maximize Size of Object on Artboard

Looks like the easiest way to do this manually is by manipulating rotation in the transform panel. You can make 0.1, or smaller, rotations and stop when the width goes back up. Not a perfect way to do it, but it's way better than dragging the rotation with your mouse.
  8. Maximize Size of Object on Artboard

I don't need the resizing portion. Rotation to find smallest width is all that is needed.
  9. Maximize Size of Object on Artboard

Here's a crude example of what I mean. Art board denoted with pink outline. By rotating the black shape, you can increase the size of the object. The trial and error approach, you can manually rotate the object and watch the width value increase and decrease.
  10. Maximize Size of Object on Artboard

See if what works? You haven't suggested anything.
  11. Maximize Size of Object on Artboard

The height doesn't matter. The only limitation is the width of the material the shape will be printed on. So the script would rotate the object to find the skinniest width.
  12. Maximize Size of Object on Artboard

Yeah, the script would be used to find the correct rotation that produces the smallest width. Beyond that, scaling it is easy enough to manually do.
  13. Maximize Size of Object on Artboard

Yes, trying to maximize the height based on material width.
  14. Maximize Size of Object on Artboard

Does anyone know of a script or tool to maximize the size of an object by rotating and scaling to the artboard? I know I can get close by trial and error, but thought there might be something out there.
  15. Blotchy (Splotchy) Solid Colors HP Latex 315

Put the old M/Y printheads back in and it prints fine.
