  1. Need Help Mimaki JV3 160SP dumping cyan like booze at an open bar wedding!

I had some heads that were totally dead and stopping the machine from even going through the printing motions after the cyan died so i needed to be sure it didnt fry the main board. once I did that i wanted to be sure the lines were not dried up so i flushed the one working head a bit and...
  2. Need Help Mimaki JV3 160SP dumping cyan like booze at an open bar wedding!

Progress! I was able to round up some electrically sound but trashed face heads and was able to run the printer. all the channels appear functional and if i move the 1 working head i have around I get ink from all lines. DX4 heads new are not exactly in the budget any time soon so now I need...
  3. Looking for 2 DX2 colour heads used or old stock.

With my printer troubles I was offered a Roland fj50 to use till i can get some paying work coming in but it needs both DX2 heads. Anyone have a couple spare or used DX2 heads around they can part with? Thanks Tom.

One step forward 4 steps back. Black is for the most part working, magenta, cyan are toast and yellow is likely most of the way to toast as well. the sad part is I have a few heads leftover from scrapping the 540 and they all have the nozzle plate separated from the head body and bypassing ink...

Thank you I will pm you shortly. But in the meantime, Progress! So I checked the transistors on the mainboard, all good. Checked the ribbon cable ends from the main to the slider, all good. I still might do a continuity test on all of them yet. Checked the ribbons for all 4 heads, all good...

I'm sorry I dont have any empties, I had some partials and I gave them to a guy who has an older roland. Tom.
  8. Need Help Mimaki JV3 160SP dumping cyan like booze at an open bar wedding!

I pulled the slider board off and went through all the cables and made sure the connections are clean and well seated, so far no sign of anything that could cause this. Slider board physically looks good, its clean no hot spots. Fets on it tested out good. I'm about to put the slider board back...

Ok this is really odd. I even swapped both cables with the magenta head and it still prints only cyan.. FML Tom.
  10. Need Help Mimaki JV3 160SP dumping cyan like booze at an open bar wedding!

Hi again folks. I'm tinkering with a jv3 160sp and got the electronics sorted out and was on my way to getting the heads unclogged and all of a sudden during a pattern test it starts dumping out the cyan like mad, from the moment it leaves the capping station till it returns to park its a...
  11. Resurrecting dead SC-540.

Well final result for this printer, Scrapped! I'll see if I can post any parts in the for sale sections. Main and servo board not communicating, looks like one of the cpld's has given up the ghost and the heads are hopelessly clogged. Total cost to fix would be in the 5k range. Thanks for all...

  13. Resurrecting dead SC-540.

I was stuck in Cleaning mode at first as well, I found pulling the battery on the main board cleared that and now it at least boots up straight to the 0002 error without the cleaning nag. Tom.

Thank you, I'll check it out and send them an offer on the boards. Even if i make it a cutter i'd be happy. Cheers, Tom
  15. Resurrecting dead SC-540.

well it was a fun attempt, I am not too concerned too much with speed and i've seen some prints done on this machine, they were quite nice. But honestly, i'd be happy if I could just make it cut.
