  1. Is there a cheaper alternative to phototex?

We used to use graphitex, but it just isn't the same as Phototex. With graphitex the adhesive tends to become permanent over time. We were running into issues with removal of the graphitex damaging walls and residual adhesive left behind. There is one other solution similar to Phototex called...
  2. Custom printed CHEAP squeegees

Lidco offers hot stamping on their squeegees. We order the squeegee without the center bar in it since they are giveaways and will only be used once Econo-line Series I think it works out to about .55 each when we order 5000. We are in contact with another company that says they can do it for...
  3. Grimco buys Advantage Sign & Graphic Solutions/Advantage Sign Supply

I wouldn't count on it anytime soon. We have the same issue. Our advantage branch would stock rolls of Oracal 631 and we would be able to have it next day. Now it is a drop ship item and takes a week. My Grimco rep says they aren't stocking anything new until at least after the New Year because...
  4. Trademark Filing services

We used legal zoom to file our 2 trademarks. Came out to around $450 total including the fees to the USPTO for each application. It does take a while for the USPTO to review and approve. We submitted one back in April and it still is not live yet.
  5. Question Laser with Ethernet / Network connection?

Our Epilog Fusion has a network or usb connection. Our Trotec only has a usb option.
  6. Can this be done on a FC8600

He would have to change the blade position after every row, unless he was doing perf cut only. Even then, I don't think the perfcut would go all the way to the end, since the rollers usually account for the 1/2" on the sides. Unless there is a way to expand the cut area to beyond the rollers.
  7. Anybody Using Time Clocks

We used to do it manually, but finally invested in a digital time clock. We use this system RTC-1000 2.0 Time Clock | Icon Time Systems | Universal Time Clocks but we don't use the badges. I would recommend it as it saves so much time not having to manually add up hours or enter them into a...
  8. What Are They Called?

What is the technical term for those plastic end caps that come with every roll of vinyl to hold the roll centered in the box? And does anyone have a source where they sell them in various sizes? We need some that will fit in a 4" or 5" box.
  9. Adding cutter to Versaworks

I don't think you can just drag in a cut job direct to the GX queue in versaworks. You have to print the file first and then drag that file to the GX queue. You may be able to rip the file and then drag it over, but never tried.
  10. Versaworks Dual Issues

So we got the email a while ago for the free Versaworks Dual upgrade. We have downloaded it and installed on 2 different computers, 1 being a brand new rip computer, all running Windows 7 Pro. Within 15 minutes of using it, it has crashed on both computers. It crashes when we drag in certain...
  11. Roland GX 640

Join the club. Our GX-640 is fine on the outer sides left and right on the sheet, but in the middle it is always a mm off or so. I've tried to make the adjustments in the menu on the machine but there is no change. And there is no print/cut adjustment between the printer and GX.
  12. Why does Versaworks keep giving me this error?

Hard drive is too full. You need to clear space. If you have a bunch of jobs in versaworks, delete the ones you don't need. Or get a bigger hard drive.
  13. Poor service from supplier?

It may be a sensor on the machine. We had the same issue with our yellow. It would think the cartridge was empty and stop the print, but then recognize the cartridge again. Tech replaced the cartridge sensor or something and it's working fine. We've only run Genuine roland inks.
  14. Signage materials and equipment suppliers in the California Central Coast?

Don't think any are in the 805. I think Denco or maybe Ordway may deliver as far north as Santa Barbara.
  15. Roland Vs. Summa

    I've got a GX-640 and a GX-400 that I'd sell so I can get a Summa.
