I"m looking to make the switch from our cutters to flatbed solvent printers and could use some real advice on how to print successfully on acrylic! I had some UV samples made up on the Roland LEF however our acrylic substrate is "frosted" and with the ink also being opaque the letters weren't real bold and crisp and were kind of see through.
We even tried laying down a white underlay and that did make the lettering pop a lot better however it took twice as long! Do solvent air dry inks stand out better on acrylic than UV inks per chance? What's the best way to print on acrylic substrate? I'd love to buy a non-UV printer being they are about half the cost...
Any help would be much appreciated!
