  1. What do you use to clean a matte wrap?

I have my car wrapped with matte charcoal metallic, I get greasy spots and water spots often. I always give it a good hand wash with windex and that does the trick
  2. Controltac question

I've never heard of that happening from roller pressure, but that does happen when the prints aren't fully cured before laminating.
  3. Best heat gun for wrapping?

Sure. It's instant, no waiting for it to get up to temp. It's cordless, no worries about finding an outlet or bringing extension cords. Heat guns have their place too, like when doing matte wraps. Less likely to gloss it out. I got my heat gun at Harbor Freight, cheap, adjustable, works great.
  4. Off Gassing - recommendations

Bob did you watch the video and do the same print test?
  5. Off Gassing - recommendations

I really don't see how anyone can say out gassing isn't real or important. If out gassing was a myth there wouldn't be half the people in this thread saying its important to do. If you are saying or thinking its a myth watch this video, then go do the same print test...
  6. Thoughts on Geek Wraps - wrap roller tools?

I don't have the roller that holds onto the torch tank, but I have they're hand roller and one thing I noticed right away was it didn't roll if you put any pressure on it. I took it apart and found they were using the wrong bolt to hold it all together. One new bolt and a couple washers and now...
  7. Chrome wrap vinyls - Which one?

I see 3M now offers chrome in they're 1080 series. Is that the sample they sent you?

  9. wrapping sprinter sides?

Who is in the process of changing what? 3M going away from stretching? Is that why they just came out with another super-comformable material that can stretch 150%? (480cv3) All you guys need to get off the hate train. You don't like 3M. I get it. But don't run around saying the product is...
  10. wrapping sprinter sides?

What exactly is nonsense? They provide tons of information about the product and how to use it, and you think it's garbage? Would you prefer the manufacturers to say nothing and let you figure it out? I have never had an issue with sprinter window channels following they're joke garbage...
  11. wrapping sprinter sides?

Copy and paste from the 3M bulletin "Pro Tips for Wrapping Vehicles with 3MTM ControltacTM Wrap Film with ComplyTM v3 Adhesive IJ380Cv3": As you come to concave areas and channels, bridge film IJ380Cv3 over them, but don't conform them just yet. Heat film IJ380Cv3 again to 120-130oF (50-55oC)...
  12. Non-Commercial Wraps

Custom car jobs are a real PIA. Most seem to think if it's vinyl it should be dirt cheap, which we all know isn't the case. When the carbon fiber 1080 films are damn near $50 a yard how the hell is anyone supposed to sell it and make any money?
