  • I would try cleaning it first.
    Usually these just get gummed up and dont move properly.
    Sometimes the sensor gets dirty or knocked out of place.
    You should be able to check the sensor operation in service mode.
    As well as exercise the wiper. (I think, anyway)


    Depending on the model and age, I might recommend replacing the maintenance station.

    On most ValueJets maintenance station replacement is fairly easy.
    Not even sure in the wiper is available separately.
    A quick note to Stealth Ryder would probably be more fruitful.

    Most likely your capping station/head is not sealing that well.
    Make sure they are clean, you should clean them 1-2 times a week.

    The printer counts ink droplets and pump cycles to estimate how much ink is left in the carts. If the cap doesnt seal, it wont pump ink, but still count it.

    You should contact your dealer and get new cards for your carts.
    They will be at 100%, but it will allow you to empty out the carts you have.

    If you have any problems contact Customer Care at Mutoh, 1-800-99Mutoh.
    Give them your serial # of your printer and they can send out cards as well.
