I want to create a display that has graphics and type that would only be visible when someone flashes a camera in front of it.
Does anyone know of any kind of inks, or vinyl materials, substrates, etc. that might do something like that?
To me, I see it as one of the many things that sets a quality large format shop apart from a "bang it out" shop. We deal with banding quite a bit and are very particular about the quality of prints we put out. That said, there are all types of banding we get to deal with in our industry...
Got all the standards, router, drag knife, electric oscillating knife (will order pnuematic knife later most likely), media transport belt, couple crease wheels. No kiss cut tool or v cut tool yet, might get those later too.
The router is definitely more powerful on kongsberg, (3 kw vs 1.5 kw I think?) but honestly from what I gathered unless you are doing tons and tons of 3/5" thick acrylic or wood or other super thick, beefy substrates, not sure how relevant it is in the graphics world. We sort of landed on the...
We just pulled the trigger on our new cutter today as a matter of fact. We visited both companies, (comparing G3 machines to XP machines) ran numerous tests and weighed plusses and minusses of both systems, settling on the zund G3.
Overall, I think the kongsberg is most likely a slightly...
Here is a list of all the options we have to go with the machine:
drag knife
recipricating (oscillating) knife - with adaptors for carbide blades and #11 hobby blades (exacto blades)
sword knife
45-degree bevel knife
vinyl spring knife
scoring tool - with 4 different adaptors for different...
Ugh.
I give up. Was fun for a while but it's obvious you will never change your stance or explain your reasoning. Post all the incorrect info you want, this thread is dead to me and hopefully no one follows your explanations as fact.
:noway:
I don't, but why does it matter? Your statement of "So, you can recreate the artwork from scratch to look as close as you like as long as you do not use -- in any way -- the actual file/printout that came from the other vendor. " has nothing to do with whether or not a copyright is a "work" or...
:banghead:
I have still YET to see Old Goat Roper back up anything to support this statement: "So, you can recreate the artwork from scratch to look as close as you like as long as you do not use -- in any way -- the actual file/printout that came from the other vendor. "
One can argue...
So we just pulled the trigger on a new Zund G3 cutter, Score!
As such we are contemplating what to do with our current Gerber M3000 cutter/router. We bought it as a demo unit in April of last year, and have used the heck out of it since then. It was a great starter machine, but we do tons of...
Re: Bob and his comments, I usually find him a blowhard who uses big words and lots of 'em.
Take what he says with a grain of salt and try not to egg him on, he relishes sharing his opinons whether right or wrong, appropriate or not.
Doesn't mean I don't sometimes agree or find it...
Took me a while to even see the ruler marks, I would lose em like others have suggested, they will disappear at small size and don't offer much IMHO.
This one is SO much stronger!

What you consider arrogance I would submit is simply an attempt to distribute accurate information, because try as you might you can't back up your claims of "you can recreate the artwork from scratch to look as close as you like as long as you do not...
Frankly, I think your post above isn't that different really than your original post. For instance, you say above "My post (that was removed) was not hatred of Foreigners, it was the dislike of the way they operate and conduct business. They operate a whole different way than we do here. It is a...
