  3. background removal

Boudica has been helping me with troubled football players sweat, zits and double chin beards for my high school banners. She does an amazing job!!!
  4. Sticker Mule needed a permit

Ya, this I don't agree with at all. The sign is one thing...the rest of it is stupid.
  5. Sticker Mule needed a permit

If a business wants to spread the word and put out Trump or Harris signs, I have no issue with that. They will still get my business. If you are going to cut the other party down and say nasty things about the people who support them, I DO have an issue with that. Penzey's Spices and Minocqua...
  6. Good Alternates to ShopVox Shop Management software

I second SignTracker! I love it!
  7. Sticker Mule needed a permit

That's A LOT of free advertising! I've seen a lot more massive Trump signs than massive Harris signs. A lot of businesses around here have the 4'x8' Trump signs and a lot of farmers have them in their fields - but I'm rural. I've noticed a lot more going up the last couple weeks. I've had...
  8. Advice for starting local print shop

A little advice...if you don't want people coming in for one 2" sticker then stick to the website and don't open up a storefront. Keep it by appointment only. Definitely get a laminator. I think you could get away with not doing installs. I don't do any sign installs but I sell a crap load of...
  9. Stay safe Florida!

Stay safe sign friends in Florida! The rest of the country is praying for you! We got my niece out of Tampa Bay Monday, she got a cancelled seat back to Wisconsin. My parents are still in Wisco. Our friends have evacuated to other areas in Florida. I feel like everyone is taking this very...
  10. Wrapping a 50ft tall concrete silo. Anyone ever done something similar? Pricing and time?

They did post of pic of the same kind of silo with a guy applying vinyl...maybe he just used that photo as an example? I never would have touched it. I really want this guy to come back now and see how it held up! (if it's not a fake post)
  11. Wrapping a 50ft tall concrete silo. Anyone ever done something similar? Pricing and time?

They did it. If you look a couple pages back the guys brother got about 1/4 of the way done and it looked really nice. I'm guessing they finished it but never came back to say one way or the other.
  12. Head striking while printing perforated vinyl.

What SignBoi said. I have HP 315 and run Briteline. I don't have a take-up reel so I clamp on a bar to keep some tension or use my hands if it's a little quickie job.
  13. Pan face vinyl bubbling 2 months later

Thanks everyone, I guess I messed this one up on a couple of fronts. I talked to the customer and told him I likely didn't let it out gas long enough and will of course replace the vinyl. He was not upset in he least, just wanted it fixed at some point.
  14. Pan face vinyl bubbling 2 months later

Ok - this might be the problem. It came packaged in a wood coffin and I needed help removing and setting it on the worktable. I lettered it immediately after removing the sheet.
  15. Pan face vinyl bubbling 2 months later

So basically, I used the wrong vinyl and I should be squeegeeing a lot heavier? I used 751, can I try that again if I use a flat surface and squeegee harder? Signheremd you were right, probably put it on with light pressure.
  16. Artwork troubles maybe Vector Doctor can help?

OK - update. Here's what I have from clipart. Just waiting for Johnny's pheasant to fly over...I can't find the buck I want (in this logo or in real life). Would prefer him to be looking to the left but I'll see what the client says.
  17. Pan face vinyl bubbling 2 months later

It's just regular 3M vinyl, not translucent. I didn't poke it, I will run back down the road and poke one... Darnit. I thought I was better than that. Is it more important on the pan face than say a vehicle to really squeegee it down? First time I had a problem but I don't do these often.
  18. Wrapping? A Metal Box 4x8

For sure use wrap film. I made this error in the past and regretted it LOL
  19. Pan face vinyl bubbling 2 months later

What did I do wrong? I don't remember exactly but I don't think I wet applied this Burgandy vinyl. Only the burgandy is bubbling not the gray. The pan face sat here in my office for a couple weeks before I opened it and lettered it so I don't think it was outgassing? I don't remember if there...
  20. Artwork troubles maybe Vector Doctor can help?

The good news is the client said she's OK with me using clipart. She figured I would come back and say it was going to be an issue. Johnny is drawing the pheasant for me! The rest I'm going to try and find similar clipart. It sounds like they will be OK as long as I use the correct species for...
