  1. Roll Labels

What kind of quantities are they looking for? Typically roll labels only make financial sense when you are running tens of thousands of them, or if they are being applied to the product by machine.
  2. 8k sticker order. I have questions

I donno, orders of this size are extremely profitable, I would run orders like this all day if I could get them. I figure around $600 all in for materials (Intermedite vinyl & lam, ink) and around 10 man hours of labour. even is you sell these for $0.50 each, that's $4, count on $100/hr shop...
  3. 8k sticker order. I have questions

No way subbing this out makes more sense to most shops. According to my calculations, this is just over 1.5 rolls of vinyl, set them to print a roll overnight, laminate in the morning (or not depending on the application) come in and cut them on the plotter. We are a bit spoiled with our summa...
  4. AutoCad file issues

I've got a bit of a head scratcher here. I have a client we engrave plastic electrical plates for, the tags have their logo as well as a CSA logo on them. The customer sets the files up in autocad and prints to a PDF which they send us. The issue I'm having is the 2 logos are bitmap images...
  5. Convoy Banners

I would leave off the disclaimer, just put something like "5x10 printed vinyl banner with grommets & pole pockets for client to install as they see fit" having a disclaimer on their implies that you know what they are doing with them, and if they are putting them over the highway and it comes...

You can't cut aluminum composite on a laser, the heat needed to cut the aluminum would melt the plastic core. You need a cnc router.

  10. Suggestions Lexan Sprocket Punch-Outs Causing Intermittent Streaks Through Prints

Call me superstitious but I don't clean my Gerber print head, like ever. I noticed it printed worse after cleaning. Going on 4 years now, no cleaning, prints like a champ. Mind you it only sees about 2 hours of use every 3 months these days
  11. Need help finding a good cheap bopp or vinyl that will adhere and stay on pre roll tubes without peeling or falling off!

  12. Oracal 651 vinyl

Oh, yes you can print on 651 on the edge, but this is the vehicle graphics forum, I assume most people don't do vehicle graphics with their 11.8" Gerber edge lol.
  13. Oracal 651 vinyl

651 is not a printable vinyl, it's a cutting vinyl, not to say you can't print on it, buts it's not the correct product for that.

  16. PayPal Scam

why not just switch to a different payment processor? to me PayPal seems amateur hour, I equate it with ebay and other fly by night operations. Something like square or even QuickBooks Online/ FreshBooks etc. all allow online payments
  17. Oracal 651 vinyl

always try to use cast vinyl on vehicles, however I am guilty of using 3 mil at times if needed, keep in mind it will shrink a bit and will also be harder to remove.
  18. Software for Estimating *only* ???

I have hired a filemaker developer to build a order management database for our shop, it will be ready this week, but from what I've seen it's going to speed up order creation and tracking significantly for us, as well as having a database of past orders to refer to when a client orders again 2+...

so if someone comes in looking for a 24"x 18" ACM sign, you think they should be billed based on a full $70 sheet of ACM plus print & labour?! but the next time they come in and I have a scrap piece on the shelf they only pay for that small piece?!
