  1. Onyx vs. Caldera

We switched from Onyx to Caldera because we couldn't get gradients to print without step banding in Onyx. Tried for months. Finally downloaded a test version of Caldera and the prints were perfect on the first try, we switched a short while later. Also, you don't need macs to run Caldera. We...

  4. Corel Vs. Adobe....

Is it really a price increase though? I did a quick search and the purchase prices seem to be about the same. I have always thought Adobe products are overpriced, but they know a lot more than I do about their business and how much they need to charge to stay successful. I know i will not be...
  5. Corel Vs. Adobe....

As I understand it, you can still but the software outright but you have to be on at least cs5 to be available for upgrade pricing. That said, I really don't understand all the uproar. Aren't yearly software upgrades just a cost of doing business?

Damn Robby! What a project.....I mean, wow. Congrats.
  7. Need design brainstorming help, please.

Also...consider your audience. The overall look should feel fun and youthful, not too aggressive or plain. have fun with it!
  8. Need design brainstorming help, please.

The fishing rod tornado is solid idea. Real solid. Incorporate some "friendly" type and that could be a good one. What about a play on typography?? You could have a somewhat scripty, hand drawn fishing line kind of look to the word "tackle the" (like the line is forming the letters) and them...

Nah! Plenty of it to go around I reckon....
  10. Some recent work samples

Hey all, Just wanted to post some pics of some recent jobs we've completed. It's been quite a run since we opened shop early this year. 101 has been an invaluable part of the process and provided much advice and insights, so thank you! -The large blazers plaque is an actual sample of the floor...

  12. All this talk of bikes..... let's see yours.

Here's a couple (mine is the gray bike) from a 3500 mile, week long ride my buddy and I went on a few years ago. All back roads. Epic. Wasn't out much this last year what with working crazy hours. Next year I wanna do some sort of baja-ish trip on the dirtbike though.
  13. Cyrious Control

We use it. It does take a ton of time to setup, once you do it's seamless and a breeze to use. I would guess we only use it to about 20-30% of it's potential...
  14. Lowballing at it's finest on vans

Wow, that layout is something else. As much as I sometimes love to bash poor design and get too frank on occasion, you just never know the back story though. The client may have totally insisted on what they want. I kinda have a feeling that may be the case here. The overall layout and design...

Gigantic Color in Dallas. Talk to Jimmy.
  16. Jesse KILLS IT

I'd agree that Jesse's could have had more originality, but I totally loathe the whole "theme" bike concept. The pictures on discovery.com show a lot more detail on the bikes, there are some nice subtle touches both Jesse and JR did to their bikes you don't get from the show. But I think jesse's...

  19. question on the forum search

I have found a few times when trying to search for things in the forums I get no results. For instance, I wanna research some new printers so I did a search for "CET" and it comes up with no results. I then did a search for "OCE" and it came up with no results. Are these words just too short?
