    I like happy endings.
  2. 3 Sign Shops Closed

I have a line item in my quoting system and it just says S.F. It's used only when its a bad penny. It's usually about 33% of the overall cost at the end. Care to guess what it stands for ?? If the customer asks, what's this, I tell them, oh that, it's my 'selective factoring'. Ohh.... so...
  3. Basic Contract for subcontractors

If you spec out to them, exactly how you want it furnished, what could go wrong ?? If someone wrote to me, you did this wrong and I showed them I followed their instructions and followed codes, why would you NOT be at least partly liable ?? Seeing something like that would turn me away from...

If you wanna go lighter weight, will the waveiness matter ?? Notice the beefines of that bracket ?? That's not just for show. I think ya could do better than those U-brackets, but..........................
  5. Summa GoSign - dropping lower case "i" in designs

So, why not create several NEW files, saving them all under a different format, different type styles and send them various ways ?? This sounds more like some glitch in your software and it's not responding correctly. I'd sooner think rather than a workaround, a complete removal of one program...
  6. Summa GoSign - dropping lower case "i" in designs

If I understand this, what you are describing is.... if you type in the word 'Wing', your plotter will not cut the 'i' at all regardless of the type style you choose ??

    Roses and Baby's Breath.
  9. Replicate existing dimensional letters - CURIOUS

Judging by the amount of oxidation and fading, I'd say they were in a long time and fatigue has set in in both the holes and lags. I'd have a good conversation with the customer explaining what all needs to be furnished to make it look good. - All the letters should be taken down, prepped and...
  10. Best way to rename this sign...for the third time in 2-3 years

Yeah, don't tell him anything about how fast your machines are, brand names or anything else..... or they'll just go out and buy a cheap one, hire someone to run it and take it in-house. Can't tell ya how many times, I've seen that.
  11. Best way to rename this sign...for the third time in 2-3 years

See, sometimes it's good to be vague in your quoting process.
  12. the future of graphic design

Welcome to the paperless ugly future
  13. Best way to rename this sign...for the third time in 2-3 years

They're gonna do what many of us suggested to you. Clean around the edge and make an overlay to cover up all the crap. Doubt they'll use stand-offs, as you could see the ugliness left behind it, so, it'll probably be a flush mount.
  14. Static electricity on media

Wait til late spring to do all your printing on that flatbed and don't drag your feet on the carpeting.

  16. Multiple colors of cut vinyl in a logo - assemble on table, or on site

You copied the wrong part. For three colors, I said to make a template. Capisce ??
  17. Multiple colors of cut vinyl in a logo - assemble on table, or on site

There are so many ways to do this, it ain't even funny. If you have several colors, make a pounce. Three or less. make a template. Based on your sample, if your installer can't put that bottom line on straight...... fire his/her a$$. and if they can't eyeball a simple curve like that, get...
  18. What lamination to use on printed reflective?

Street signs should be screen printed, not digitally printed on a machine. Then, they'll last 8 or 10 years.
  19. Question Where to find this?

Humm...... sounds like nice stuff. Just seems like an extra cost for an extra step or two for no real advantage. Like to see it in use, that's for sure.
  20. Display Insert Board Challenges

Talk them into using .010 styrene instead of paper. It's not easy pushing paper into such a large area without crumpling it.
