  1. Manual vinyl applicator

There was a similar company out of Arizona but I can't recall the name, I reached out to price one and never got a response. These type of devices are mostly marketed to municipal sign shops so you might have better luck using that for your searches.
  2. Need Help Adding LEDs to laser cut acrylic letters

Just so you don't get the wrong taste or idea about the response you are getting and that will likely get worse. This is a sign forum for sign professionals and most amateur/diy questions from outside the industry aren't likely to be well received. Almost everyone who has viewed this thread and...
  3. Variable Fonts Now Available to Sync at Adobe Fonts

Thanks for the heads up, time to go play around with them!
  4. Pole Banner Material

That sounds like an accident waiting to happen, just make sure whomever is installing the one across the street knows it needs to be anchored very well. I would do pole pockets top and bottom and run a cable through both, if using mesh I would use reinforcing tape in the hems. I usually use...
  5. Project Management and CRM software

Hubspot for CRM and a custom job tracker on alignable
  6. FYI: Affinity Users, version 2.0 has been released.

I will be buying a license for sure, well worth it. Like Bobby said, new features are just playing catch-up but still are welcomed additions.
  7. Which Flatbed Printer would you get with a extra $50k?

I don't think it is for retail sales, many districts have "in-plant" printing facilities, and most large districts have more printing and manufacturing equipment than the average sign shop.
  8. Which Flatbed Printer would you get with a extra $50k?

I looked into xante a bit a few years ago, there is almost zero support in the US (at that time). Desktop flatbeds are designed for promo products and specialty applications like ada signage. Direct Color Systems would be a good brand to look at, but as others mentioned it would not be an...
  9. Canon Colorado 1650 FEEDBACK

We got ours a few couple months ago, stepping up from a epson eco solvent (which we kept). They are incredible machines as everyone else has mentioned. I still use the eco solvent for everything long term outdoor (5yr + expected life) but pretty much everything else is now on the colorado.
  10. FONTS

Yeah SAi has really fallen behind on any real functionality upgrades for flexi, which is writing on the wall to me. I run flexi adobe and affinity for design depending on what it is and flexi, enroute, vcarve, onyx, and fusion360 for outputs. I haven't gotten into the habit of using variable...
  11. FONTS

I agree with Bobby, if you don't like working for free then you should at least have a basic understanding of copyright law and the conditions associated with "free" font sites. There are literally hundreds of font sites and most commercial fonts will work with flexi. One thing to note is that...
  12. SAI Flexi Production Manager drops cut shapes

I would guess that the missing piece either got into a different group or mask. Another strange issue I have had is that the color gets changed after it is made a contour path and then doesn't show up in production manager.
  13. tracing pen?

Yeah camera should produce satisfactory results, If needed you can always print or use a know grid size in the background to correct geometry. Like others have mentioned, don't overcomplicate it.
  14. HDU Sign Failure: Any reason the installation would be the reason for the failure?

Stacey, here is one I had bookmarked from before I got a router. Also try searching "sandblasted signs, cedar, redwood, carved signs". https://newenglandcarvedsigns.com/ https://www.hdusigns.com/
  15. HDU Sign Failure: Any reason the installation would be the reason for the failure?

Yeah, I would say that's 100% on who put the angles on, I would have used more aggressive screws and more of them. Better yet just mount through the front in a counterbored hole then plug and finish the spot (but that is a lot more work). GRK and others make some big gnarly structural screws...
  16. Pole Banner Pricing

Telling me how much to charge or how much something should cost is like strike 1 and 2 for me to not work with a customer... We charge much more than others for pole banners but will only outsource high quality hemmed and sewn pole banners. The rest just fall apart in less than 4 months. Stacey...
  17. Alupanel Client Install w no visible fasteners

I agree with angle and epoxy or vhb to the back of the face. One problem is that if they try to pull the angle to the post with the fasteners it can put a ton of force on the adhesive. Kind of a fun system I have used is the button-fix system sold by mbs standoffs.
  18. Flexi 22 vs Onyx 22

I would recommend flexi for your setup for sure. We are a long time flexi shop (1 perpetual flexi 12 sign and print and 2 seats of flexi designer 22). We run our epson s40600 and two graphtecs daily using Flexi, it is a workhorse and very very efficient for bread and butter sign shop work. That...
  19. Suggestions Need tips on cutting half inch foamcore with CNC

I have had varying success cutting foam core on our cnc router, the donek knife is on my list to try but I haven't ordered one yet. What I have found is that each brand and thickness behaves a little differently. I have just used regular O flute upcut bits that I had on hand but one of the...
