To use the Gerber supplied USB to Serial for cutters and/or USB to Parallel for the Edge you will need Omega 4.0 Service Pack 1 (Build 15) at a minimum. If you are going to purchase a new Omega seta you might as well go for the latest, Omega 5.0.
I do not know if the SignLab module will work...
I think Adobe's priority is no longer in the Illustrator world. It's all about PhotShop or all things web. I just did a survey for them and it started to point to gaming, once I selected no interest the survey ended.
I'm sure the 64 bit version is great for large jobs but I would watch out if...
That is about where the Gerber sign biz started. There were some earlier models but the 4B became the standard. The story goes that management and engineers were looking for a new project and after combing the "yellow pages" they found so many sign maker adds they visited one in Hartford...

I would check out the Gerber WEB site for software requirements on the current software. 2.1 is no longer supported but as I said it will work well on Win 98.
2.1 will execute fine on that setup. Composer should not be a separate item, its part of Graphics Advantage.
If you ever plan to upgrade the computer or software please pay attention to the requirements before purchasing anything, many people put the cart before the horse and then do nothing...
