  1. Laminate liner shifting

Usually 3 scenarios. Rollers have more tension on one side, a roller is coned, or the machine isn't level. Did you move the laminator at all recently? If so check that it's level, trust me, it makes a huge difference. Otherwise check the roller alignment, make sure the rollers are even with each...
  2. Need Help Laminate makes black washed out

You'll always get way better results on a machine than by hand. Like others are saying too, the better quality of lam (and vinyl for that matter), the better your results will be. I've done tons of black background and outlined graphics, and as long as you choose materials to match the...
  3. Need Help Laminate makes black washed out

What is your black makeup when you print? Just 100%K, or rich black (C60/M40/Y40/K100)? Plain 100%K will always look washed out, and even more using matte lam. I aways use rich black.
  4. When you leave the new guy alone after telling him to remove that trailer wrap

Modern adhesives are crazy. Wonder how many would fly again if they knew how much of a commercial airliner is just glued on:roflmao:
  5. Best high resolution printer

For best resolution, solvent is king. UV and latex tend to print somewhat grainy, just the nature of higher solids inks, while great for production and speed, they do sacrifice a little on the close up/ high end quality. With a good file, properly set up and calibrated machine, correct profile...
  6. SP-300V solid cuts look like sloppy perf cuts

Can't ask for much more than that! :toasting:
  7. SP-300V solid cuts look like sloppy perf cuts

I always have an extra blade holder in stock. Once they start sticking, they're usually not too long for this world, lubing them up is usually a temporary fix in my experience.
  8. Direct Print on Corrugated Metal

I flatbed printed some multi paneled MDF doors for a company once, where it recesses it gets real blurry, any lower flat areas aren't clean either because the head has to stay at a height to clear the highest points, and just too far away to print clean. Printed reeeaaallll slow the quality was...
  9. optically clear laminate

Do you use a cardboard tube on your liner take up? For poly-liner lams I use cheap two sided clear application tape, run it down the full length on the liner take-up roll. Keeps it held down all the way across and always runs straight as an arrow, takes less time than rolling up tape. Then...
  10. BEWARE of South Water Signs

Newest equipment is 2019... Bet they sold a lot off and banked it, and left junk to liquidate.
  11. Latest and Greatest Updates

October of next year, won't even be offering security updates unless you pay for them. I use both, and Mac absolutely sucks in my opinion.
  12. what in the actual hell!.....

If you do it, keep the sign till you get paid, if ya' don't get paid, put it back up
  13. Latest and Greatest Updates

I tried 11 on a VM, just to see what all the hubbub was. Memory usage on just a base load of the OS was insane, performance was so-so. Can't imagine running graphic software, CAD, and everything else I use daily. I don't like forced updates, unless it's something critical. Unfortunately most...
  14. Anyone on here do this?

Watched that a few days ago. I almost crapped my drawers when the frame snapped right off... Wouldn't trust it with a trailer.
  15. Subscription Mouse!

I keep hearing that donkeys do that too...
  16. Subscription Mouse!

It's not just the subscription that makes them money. Most subscription apps/ software root themselves into your system to collect info, which is also sold. We're the quintessential free money machines for corporations.
  17. LED Board Digital Sign Supplier

We've installed the systems they use in chain restaurants, the prices are insane, and most you're locked into using their software and controllers, subscription of course. This is an economical way for a small lower profit business like a bar to get into something better than chalk boards or...
  18. LED Board Digital Sign Supplier

There are display companies that sell complete packages and components, Displays2go, FastSigns, an a ton of others, but they're pretty hefty priced for a small business. Since it's just being used as a display, cheapest is just get a TV with the size that'll work. Some have very thin bezels...
  19. Illuminated Fab Letters - Installation

Licensed electrician does all our panel to fixture high voltage runs. If there's not already existing power to it, best to just have a pro do it, so you know it's up to code, without risking the liability if you do anything wrong, or if it's not up to code. Most jurisdictions require it to be...
  20. Subscription Mouse!

Put $2 worth of better materials into making it, so it at least lasts longer than the average mouse, and charge $200 for it instead of $20. Software updates? Like the stuff you already get for free now? Yeah, that seems like something everyone will just jump all over. Seems more like just a...
