  1. Hp Latex 360 printer fumes

It could be the vinyl material making the smell. I have tried several different materials on our L26500 and some of them for some reason give off acrid fumes when heated. It has even happened for only a part of a roll. Very noticeable on the really cheap materials.
  2. Solvent vs Latex.

This question seems to come up about once a month or so on this forum. One of the biggest questions you can ask is about service. Who can service my printer if it breaks either under warranty or out of warranty. We settled on a hp 26500 a few years ago and wouldn't go back to solvent for...
  3. Need Help Pricing

    No problem. I stand corrected.
  4. Need Help Pricing

Sniff. Sniff. Sniff. I think I smell a troll. 1st post. Way underpricing work. (less than the cost of materials alone) Spoon feeding info.
  5. Need Help Pricing

How high are they?? Ladder? Bucket truck? Sometimes they stack the boxes.

    Hello from Naugatuck!
  7. advice on software for this Newbie

For a newbie I do not recommend Signlab. The price may be attractive but it is a program you have to learn, not very intuitive. Tried it for a while and went back to Flexi because it so so much easier to use
  8. How do you deal with clients that want their files

Tell them the hard drive crashed a while back and the files are gone.
  9. New addition to the family

Rabbits are great pets. They like to chew everything, even extension cords. Some have said that they have litter box trained their rabbits. Cute.
  10. Does anyone charge for site visits?

We build it into the cost of the sign if required. Sometimes a site visit can be avoided by using google maps street view. We use it a lot.
  11. how big of a difference is cheap ebay laminate roll compared to other laminates?

I would skip the instant one media material or any cheap laminate if you are doing anything that will go outdoors. Read the specs on the instant one laminate, 1 year outdoor exposure. I tried their material and would never go back to a cheap laminate for outdoor use. The pic attached is from a...
  12. Fax it to you? Seriously?

We have not yet downloaded any viruses from attachments and probably 1% of our customers still use a fax machine. I send and receive email attachments/ proofs via email all day, couldn't do my job without them. Just saying that I understand their position.
  13. Fax it to you? Seriously?

We still use a fax machine and maintain a dedicated phone # for it. I don't blame them for not accepting faxes because it may keep the employees from downloading viruses in anonymous attachments which may be open by mistake by an unsuspecting employees. That only needs to happen to you once...
  14. Looking to get a 55" cold laminator light weight

Personally I would stay away from USTech. For me, I have one of their broken laminators and they don't respond/ don't know how to fix it, I don't know. Purchased it new from their distributor.
  15. Wooden sign post pricing

I'd sell them an 8' post and let them cut it off after the hole is dug. A camping area should have a chainsaw handy.
  16. Why you should not reuse old material.

I giggle every time I drive by this sign that is about 1/4 mile from our shop. The owner of the property wanted a big RESTAURANT FOR LEASE sign over the original sign but NO HOLES. So I told him I would use VHB tape that will stick forever, he said ok. We put a big red 2 piece coro for lease...
  17. Stakes, posts or rods for 10mm corrugated?

If you go the fence post route you may be able to use these #2 conduit clamps to attach the panel to the posts.
  18. Stakes, posts or rods for 10mm corrugated?

Should have said for up to 4x4 signs, yours is 3x4 which is a big sail.
  19. Stakes, posts or rods for 10mm corrugated?

I have seen H frames for 4x4 signs. I would use one for this if I had to. 2 PT 4x4 posts would be best. It think it would blow over or away into someone's car, house, etc with just the rods.
