  1. Question Moving A Printer, No Power For 24 Hours?

Can't go wrong with that. Just be prepared as the long store process tends to reveal issues that printer is having that haven't gotten bad enough to affect the print such as small air leaks and bad maintenance parts. You definitely want to check the ink lines after the process to make sure all...
  2. Question Moving A Printer, No Power For 24 Hours?

You are going overboard with the long store. 24 hrs without power is completely fine. Clean the cap top and the bottom of the head where it lines up with the cap top so that it makes a good seal. Pour some cleaning solution into the cap so it drains into the tubes to keep them from drying and...
  3. New Mutoh 1604x

Although there are different versions of DX5 head, they are all physically the same and have the same specs. Some have a Teflon bottom, some don't, some are made to be only used in certain machines etc. but they all print the same sized dots and speed. I wouldn't worry about the availability...

  5. Print Resume

Why is the print stopping? It shouldn't be a regular thing. As stated above, the only time you can resume the print is if you paused it purposely by hitting the remote button or if there is a simple cover open error. Any other kind of error during the print will kill the job.
  6. Large Photoshop Files

    Good to know.
  7. Large Photoshop Files

What version of Photoshop do you have? JPEG should be a standard option under the Save As option. Also, TIFF is a better format to save a bitmap file and your RIP should be able to accept it as a file type. JPEG compresses the file and creates artifacts where as TIFF files are lossless.
  8. Need Help Building A Utrasonic Cleanner For Print Head Dx4, Dx5

I have a special tool that lowers and raises the cap tops when the power is off. It's like a small metal tube that is pinched at the end. There is a small hole below the cap tops that goes all the way through the covers. You can stick the tool up there and it grabs a screw that lowers and raises...
  9. Need Help Building A Utrasonic Cleanner For Print Head Dx4, Dx5

I always make sure that the issue isn't being caused by bad or dirty maintenance parts. I clean everything really well and then replace parts if needed. Once I know that everything should be working properly and the clog persists, I move on to soaking. Normally I just use forceps to clamp off...
  10. Need Help Building A Utrasonic Cleanner For Print Head Dx4, Dx5

They don't work. Don't waste your time. If you can't recover the head by soaking and flushing with a syringe, it's toast.

Youtube is your friend. There are lots and lots of tutorial on there. Unfortunately there is only one good way to learn and that's the hard way. It's a grind and it never ends. There is always something to learn even for advanced users. Tutorial are good for most of the stuff but a lot of it...
  13. Problem With Mimaki Cjv150 Bs

The humidity affects the way the ink flows through the head and how it dries. The material could just be a bad batch. Even the best vinyl manufacturers have bad batches sometimes.
  14. cart error on all colours

There are 3 possibilities. The most likely one is that the card is damaged or corrupt. In that case you just need to get a new cartridge or try to get a new card from the person you bough the ink from. Second is card position. If the card is not lining up with the reader properly, you will get...
  15. Problem With Mimaki Cjv150 Bs

If the problem just started happening, I would think either something in the environment has changed such as humidity and/or you got a bad roll of material. Try printing on another roll that is from a different lot number and see if it improves. You may want to check the room for the humidity...

Could be a ton of things. How does the nozzle check look? If the magenta is missing, that would cause the issue and is the most likely reason.
  19. Question Mimaki Jv3 160sp

I can't remember how the JV3 does it but in the service menu just go to the #Test menu and find the Vacuum test. I think it is under the Action Test menu but it's been so long since I worked on one of those I can't remember. An easier way is just look at the vinyl; when a print starts. Usually...
