I have replaced that part on a DX5 head which is similar. Unfortunately there is no replacement available other than taking it off another head or replacing the whole head. On the DX5 head it comes off when you remove the manifold but on your head I believe it will be more difficult/impossible...
Graphtec made their own communication language called GP-GL and it works with the software that comes with the Graphtec. If you are using any software that isn't Graphtec branded , like Flexi, you have to go into the cutter's menus and change the communication language to HP-GL which is a more...
Every manufacturer is different so you need to call them. If you were able to change over to the S10 inks without flushing the machine, you can return to the OEM's without flushing. If that is the case, using both at the same time won't cause any problems except that it can cause very slight...
There is no such thing as a truly permanent chip for Mimaki. Most 3rd party chip makers can get around the security but the firmware on the machine also requires an expiration date which has to be changed every once in a while to trick the machine. A chip cannot do this on it's own and requires...
I would start by troubleshooting ink flow issues first. Is there any air in the ink line? How old is the cap top? Is the black pump tube partially clogged or leaking? All of the signs point towards a bad damper, o-ring, manifold or cap top. Check to make sure the manifold is not cracked where...
Don't clean it with solvent cleaning solution! Use some rubbing alcohol instead. You don't have to be super gentile but don't be aggressive with it as the solvent in the inks could have softened the plastic. I would say just leave it be but getting the ink off will prevent it from deteriorating...
Did you run the limit position initialization? If the error happens soon after turning on the machine and/or when it goes to measure the material, this could be the issue.
If people actually took this advice, half of the posts on Signs101 wouldn't' exist. I know for some it's a price issue but there seems to be this idea that the whole profiling thing is a scam or something. Profiling is the single most ignored aspect of this industry that I have seen. The second...
If you have illustrator or Corel draw you can use the Finecut plug-in that should have come with your printer. It allows you to cut directly from those programs to the printer as if it were just a cutter.
The key is to unplug the machine, hit the power buttons a couple times and wait 15 minutes. If you do this, you can't go wrong. I have actually tested the power output on a lot of these machines after they have been unplugged and most take a little less than 15 minutes to fully discharge due to...
I took a look at the specs and it is essentially the 1604 with a few added features like being able to add the photospectrometer and some firmware improvements. I am assuming that it uses the DX5 head as it doesn't come close to the DX7 max speed and is almost identical in speed to the original...
Daige sells a stand for that model but it is an option and doesn't come standard. Just contact Daige and they should be able to point you to a local dealer.
I would try to get some money back by recycling the metal. It's, one of the worst solvent machines ever built and that's saying a lot as I am a big fan of Mutoh in general. Even when they were in service, I know many fellow techs who refused to work on them due to them being so finicky. They...
The first thing to check is the wiper unit. Make sure when the print starts that the wiper is not in the path of the print head. If it is, the head is wiper across it every time it goes back and forth and that would cause the yellow to get contaminated. Also, check the bottom of the head for...
The fact that the problem goes away when you go to higher passes means it's an ink flow issue for sure. I know that machine uses the Ricoh heads but I am not sure if it uses the sub tank system that other Ricoh heads use. If it does, you probably just need to replace it.
Here you go - SP300V Support Page Use the latest driver. It should work on Windows 10. There is also a parameter for the ink that you might need to change but I can't for the life of me remember where to change it. Maybe someone else has some experience with it and can remember.
I'm thinking that turning off color correction in illustrator is causing your problem. The VW color swatch files are probably just EPS or PDF files that have the color settings embedded. You're sending over files with no color settings embedded so the RIP is treating them different due to the...
The driver on Roland's support page for that model should work in windows 10. You might have to install it in compatibility mode but I know for sure that there isn't a specific windows 10 driver and I have multiple customers using windows 10 using the driver that is provided.
