  1. Tiger Mascot

It's a blatantly modified Kentucky Wildcat logo...everything is identical except enough minor changes to the head to make it a tiger instead of a wildcat.
  2. Need help with a really old plotter

I've always been amazed at the number of people on this site with a $300 plotter but a $4000 sign program, $1200 in Adobe products, and $2000 in clip art.
  3. a 2nd business ?

Get rid of the wife or the girlfriend and you won't have to work so many jobs.
  4. BrandsoftheWorld.com

I love the new format at BOTW, I just wonder how long it's going to be before you have to start paying for logos? Fortunately there are other sites out there.
  5. Is there a way convert images to vector images?

DnD, this is going back to your first post about not being a designer, being an installer...DO NOT USE THAT "DRESS" IMAGE. It's going to look like a giant black blob on a sign. It lacks shape and detail and will be completely useless. There is NO WAY POSSIBLE to take that flipper looking...
  6. Noob with recently purchased PC-60 wants to get in the sign making business...

The problem is (well the first problem is that it's a PC-60, are you sure the print head is any good?) that I don't know if you're going to be able to print on the waterslide decal material. If you can, however, you can clear right over it without harming the resin ink. The chrome ribbon...
  7. Noob with recently purchased PC-60 wants to get in the sign making business...

Interesting. I've got a really good friend who makes award winning amps and guitars. He actually uses the water slide sheets they sell for Testors models, prints his headstock logo on them (which has an outline of his logo) on a Deskjet printer, backfills them with a paint pen then applies...
  8. Hello, from Texas! Need Help Please!

DND, that's gonna be trouble. Unless you're just gonna stick letters on a board you're in for a long, painful learning curve that you might never get to an acceptable level on. A web forum like this can help you along but teaching you to use an entire design program? From scratch? To a...
  9. Summa D60/U

Thanks for that bit of information, you just saved me $360! :thankyou:
  10. Wraping old exposed brick wall

I beg to differ. Looking at the stuff in the 3M booth at the show in Atlanta I was shocked at how much it looked like paint...from only a foot away. The logo print they did for me and mounted wouldn't have looked any more painted if it had been painted.
  11. No clue....

    Franklin Gothic with Helvetica Bold?
  12. Misinformation about PrismJET VJ48/Mutoh 1204

Really? Are we looking at the same images then? There is a dramatic difference between the two. Not that it really matters, I don't know what printer did either one.
  13. Anyone recognize this one?

I've got it on one of the systems at the shop. I think its Nihility but don't quote me on that.
  14. Font ID Programs

I prefer to use Shovelhead Version 1.2
  15. SAI is GREEDY

Tell him to put a sign outside offering a $1000 no questions asked reward for the dongles. I know two people who have had unreal results (including a bidding war) doing that. The key is to make sure the reward is high enough to get somebody to risk it. Paying the $1000 would hurt but not as...
  16. Roland revolutionary new wide-format inkjet printer?

Dimensional textures using a thermal ink (like business card printers used to use)?
  17. Urgent - Colorcamm Users

Send me the info. I just happened to get a free boat ancho.....I mean Color Camm last weekend. For $400 I'll give it another shot.
  18. how do you make lettering "GLOW"

OP could paint it for you.
  19. I should know this one....

    Goudy Handtooled
  20. Two dead D60 plotters in one day

Opened them up and got the multimeter after them. One had a blown power supply, the other one has a short between the plug inlet and the power supply, I'm hoping replacing the switch will fix that. Replaced the power supply in the first one, put new blades from Clean Cut Blade in it and it...
