  7. Banding on a Mimaki JV3

:design: since we're all design-challenged, money-grubbing franchise owners here... I guess that justifies YOU, Valentino, spitting out CRAP everytime the professionals here want to discuss equipment you don't own... :Oops:wait... none of us are franchises... so why don't suck in that crap...
  8. Help - InDesign - PDF Printing Gradient issue

Hi, I would tend to think of exporting as a .tif just because 90% of the large format inkjet output I handle is done that way. Can you export .tif files out of indesign? Otherwise, if you could open the indesign file in either illustrator, photoshop, or acrobat without losing the gradient...
  9. Microsoft Access... anyone using it?

thanks for the link Chris. Jiarby, I agree that too much investment in database development was never, & will never be part of my mission. I'm learning a lot here & seeing the entire lay of the land helps me map my course, even if my course remains a short straight line that never covers...
  10. Is this able to be traced?

post it so we can see it... not download it. Make an rgb file saved as .jpg
  11. Is this a scam????

cheap bogus software emails are not new & I have received a multitude of them over the years... but I was a bit curious when I posted here about buying CS3 2 days ago... and then got a "Buy CS Suite" scam email the very next day.
  12. Microsoft Access... anyone using it?

Chris, So I presume when someone buys your program, they don't need to own Access. And similarily, if I would need some programing up front to get the functionailty I require out of building a database... if I paid someone to set it up... just like your clients don't need the original creation...
  13. Microsoft Access... anyone using it?

Brian, while searching for some Access templates, like Jiarby suggested... I ran across something like what your former employer may need. I'm not sure if you're still in touch, of if the above quoted comment may be real old news... but in case it's helpful to anyone, here is a link to a...

Wow... more posts while I was typing. Thanks for your input Bogie. I will have the full version of Outlook, when my new Office suite arrives next week, so I will look into their contact management stuff. I also followed your download.com link for some interesting options. Thanks Glyph. I...
  15. Microsoft Access... anyone using it?

thanks guys... this is interesting stuff. I like it when I know I don't know something... because I'd be feeling pretty dumb right now if I had thought I already understood a database.. (AND I'd bet the helpful crew here would include a few folks helping make sure I'd feel dumb) ...so, now...
  16. "Naturally Speaking" speach recognition software

oops... that was my error, not the software. I've mentioned I can't type.. but failed to add that I can't spell either. As for capturing thoughts on audio equipment... if the end result needs to be typed, this program saves me a lot of time even if I do have to edit some of it.
  17. Microsoft Access... anyone using it?

That's excellent news tech... and a generous offer. GB2 is going to teach me a bit of what he knows too... so I think I'll be able to get me a database one way or another :thumb:
  18. Microsoft Access... anyone using it?

because i've never used a "database"... and before this week... never really used the word "database' in a conversation... I'd have to admit that I really don't know what all might be included in what that word should mean... and therefore, I fear I don't even really know what is being said...
  19. "Naturally Speaking" speach recognition software

hmm... I forgot I posted this in a hurry the other day before rushing out to a 7:30 am meeting... just remembered it when I saw the nice Lily Tomlin style headset that came with my Costco software. I don't think they are prone to carrying less-then-current software. It shows 2 C-Net or PC world...
