  1. Paint

Krylon and RustoLeum both have automotive/metal paints in any hardware store. Finish with a Krylon satin acrylic polyurethane clear coat. Comes in a spray can, can't go wrong.
  2. Installing Printed Wall Graphic On Existing Vinyl Wallcovering

ask your vinyl supplier about phototex, the EX version will stick to wallpaper/texture. it is slightly transparent, however. I mean, you can't read a newspaper through it but if you're trying to cover-up a large obscenity or a girlie poster, or another logo... some things might still...
  3. What do I do?!

"ma'am, your sign is exactly as it was before we started working AROUND it. google images confirms your sign was installed this way dated back at least to 2011. It almost appears as though your sign was the result of a "quick-fix" to split a large tenant panel into two smaller tenant panels. I...

improper seal on the capping station? did you do all the replacements or has a tech.?
  5. Adobe Systems Breach of Security?

another major reason I will never go to the cloud... CS6 4 life (well, at least the next 4+ years)
  6. Printing Traffic Signs

Shame you'd rather not bother going to a sign shop, sign guys are kinda cool, but everyone's got their own-way, I guess. Instead, maybe go to a merchant member here on the forums? they'll take good care of ya, and an order can be as simple as an email everytime you need more stuff sent to ya in...
  7. Searching for a thick, economical laminate or clear with CLEAR or TRANSLUCENT backing

My optically clear overlaminate from Lamex comes on a clear liner. printable, however, uncertain. you have solvent or latex? i can try.
  8. Help.......... WTF

try DS Digital or Digital 7, I found it via dafont.com seems like the same font, but with offset paths to eliminate the LCD lines. edited: crap, just realized those fonts have no lower-case lettering :(
  9. CMYK values changing

rip software color management/profile handling options. If you're intending to handle the cmyk values purely through your design software then turn ICC Profiles OFF in the RIP's color management options.
  10. Fellers

There's still people here at the shop that remember him as well... and to see his picture, and hear his voice again when put on hold, our old graphics-gal gets a kick outta him. Fellers' service is top-notch. maybe a mistake on their-end, but I'm sure they would gladly remedy the situation if...
  11. PhotoTex high tack vs. regular

@Jack,well i already trust the regular tack for removal/repositionable but thanks for the confirmation :) I'm mainly just hoping to stir-up any gripes of the high tack being too tacky to install on regular walls.
  12. PhotoTex high tack vs. regular

kind of what I was expecting to hear, although I'm still hoping someone can vouch for high tack on painted drywall without pulling paint when repositioning during initial application. i just might go for it, as it is only a 36" tall mural that spans 200' (well, THREE murals, at the same...
  13. translucent vinyl, double strike?

double-layer for good clients, double-strike for the "cheap ones" (although, we give them the option but they always seem to want to save $$$) stock trans. colored vinyl? never a need to do anything but cut/apply.
  14. window tint with cutout?

sharp blade. polyester doesn't cut nearly as clean as vinyl.
  15. Time to take them out of my daily sight and remembrance of how much spent....

if you DO toss them in the dumpster, make sure to cut them in half first, or at least penetrate the mylar bag inside to allow drain/dry. basically like a paint can, gotta let it dry/outgas or its considered hazardous waste. that being said, my stack was taller :)
  16. PhotoTex high tack vs. regular

has anyone used the high tack phototex for regular drywall surfaces? is the material repositionable without ripping paint off the wall? removability is unimportant, as permanence is, but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot here :) Walter @ PhotoTex has been great, and is sending me...
  17. Mimaki CG-130 FX 'ERR36 MARKdetect' *PLEASE HELP*

my best guess, at this point, would be to check your cutter's settings. what are your parameters? my suggested params: (within Function --> Setup --> OriginSelect) Origin: LowerRightCorner (within Function --> Setup --> MarkDetect) Mark Detect: 4pt Paper Hold: ON Dist.Revi.: OFF Size: 13mm...
  18. Flat Desert Tan Color?

RitRama beige Ostrich? BUT it has a leather texture to it.
  19. vertical lines in ultraflex fabritac material

yup. it will waste material. but its better than head-striking like crazy trying to start your print on the front-end of the media, which will most certainly buckle enough to catch the deflector and jam the media/scratch your printheads (especially when you're in a rush to print a job!) which...
