cripes! I'm paying $165 from a merchant member here. would love to hear of someone's source for these low numbers bein' thrown around.
  2. Error 07 Head ****--

only data-error will throw that code. doesn't matter if the head is primed or not. you have your cables mixed-up from the slider board to the printhead. make sure the sequence is matched, top = left i believe, and that the ribbon cables are seated fully and squarely.
  3. MIRROR TINT for building glass.

home depot carries this. and it is WAY worse than frosted, polyester with a chrome finish has a million ways to blemish during application, but it is still do-able.
  4. What solution do I need to clean and flush jv3 printheads

search threads for butyl cellosolve and acetone homebrew. i make my own, as well. chemicals available through sherwin williams or your local chemical supply company.
  5. mimaki jv3-160sp

i think the printer is just angry at how dirty you've let it become :) there's a magnet that holds the clip in (or the cover-down, if the clip was screwed to the cover), on the printer just behind those two holes on the cover. sometimes it shifts, and even though it is still there, it might...
  6. Vintage Cheerleader font?

Varsity is all that ever comes to mind when the cheerleading squads come-callin' for coroplast signs. ... That font alone, has gotten myself free car washes for life! giggidy giggly.
  7. Do you really wait a day to laminate?

for solvent printing, assuming you have proper profiles/ink limits setup, you don't need to wait a day.... but you definitely don't want to laminate straight after printing. if you want reasons for this, then use the search function, as this topic has been beaten to death. p.s. LOVE laminating...
  8. prints turning black

horizontal surfaces in brutal sunlight... no good. use the search function for similiar gripes, I do not believe there is a solution except knowledge of short life-expectancy of even the highest performing print vinyls.
  9. Would you panel this?

+1 seamless. you'll double your install time trying to align two large tiles, as opposed to just slapping up one-piece. get yourself a "BodyGuard Knife" from YelloTools. I used to do this by tearing-out the backing paper, but the knife makes it much easier to just slit-out a vertical 4-6"...
  10. Which media do I need?

post pics if you're using cast materials, you shouldn't have an issue unless you're not cleaning the windows properly. ....or your client isn't cleaning them properly after the install.
  11. Can somebody identify this flame graphic

pretty cool set, if it was available from somewhere. not in any of my albums, and I've got a TON. maybe vector doctor-it? i'd draw it myself if there weren't so many merchant members on here that could also whip that right up in no time.
  12. Sign Materials for Beach Sign... lots of sun, salt, sand and water!

what about a combination of materials intended to weather (steel, copper, bronze) layered with stainless/plexi? sun-dial of sorts? or a shape referencing the pier's location on the coast? or maybe tour the other piers and snap shots of their signage, picking apart likes/dislikes and offer to...
  13. Right in the middle of pump replacement

lick it, and it will slide back-in real easy.
  14. L26500 Printing on Opti Solv 18oz Banner- Stretching?

stretching? maybe feed calibration? i've been having slight issues across the board with varying degrees of inconsistancies of length, but more in the range of 1/8" over 6ft
  15. Clear coat over cut vinyl?

google it, or youtube it. people do this all the time.
  16. Reverse print for interior windows

how about a clear print and back-laminate it with stock white perforated material?
  17. Would you sue?

if you're really hell bent on stopping the mis-sales of your design.... I'd be sending amazon a letter, as they're taking a cut as well. Don't see any pirated CDs/DVDs/software on amazon nowadays, do ya? but, if I were you, I'd give it up and find a better way to beat this guy at his own...
  18. Its fixed.

:goodpost: congrats on the fix! just make sure you keep-up on good cleaning/maintenance routine. especially helpful in the event of some other issue arises and you've got a solid grip on the who/what/when/why/how your printer should be working properly. p.s. love my latex p.s.s. STILL love my Jv3
  19. Digital Printed Aluminum

print on clear, and laminate it onto aluminum or a polyester/foil metallic vinyl. BOOM goes the dynamite. I make these all the time for clients that want bronze plaques from Gemini, but never seem to realize that it takes 2-3weeks to be cast. bronze metallic vinyl, black print on clear...
  20. Would you sue?

creation/copyright/okie dokie....like McDonald's golden-arches? or a Subway logo? sounds a tad hippocritical to me, just sayin'. if it were me, and my business, then I would just keep building a record for a more solid case down the line. count my blessings, keep growing my business, and...
