  1. May Wonders Never Cease...

I think they bought an "A" and replaced the "O" in Coming Soon after they opened. Either that or they are just messed up. Love....Jill
  2. A little help getting started, please.

To get the cuts going the right direction, (I am not in the program at the moment so I am guessing and vague) when you are in the Cutting Master, on the first page of it (where the last page is where you'd select Weed Border) Look towards the bottom right and you will see a picture of a little...
  3. New Logo

Whoever told you to squash the text was mistaken. In my opinion, the font choices are very 80s. Here's a quick suggestion, rather dodgy looking.
  4. Conduit pipe and fittings

Have you tried your local hardware or plumbing supply store? Just guessing. Love....Jill
  5. Rip-off? You tell me.

It does look like a copycat. What can you do about it? They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but it would cheese me off too. Love....Jill
  6. Deer Head Vector Image?

I am having a flashback of when I had to handpaint a deer head on a firetruck, I thought it looked great but "the boys" complained that it looked "gay" because I made the deer have eyelashes. One of "the boys" just wrecked the aforementioned truck and now I have to bid on repainting the one...
  7. Pittsburgh World of Wheels 2010

Bump for the morning crowd! It is also OK to donate panels for the auction, but time is of the essence. This little gal is doing the auction, you can contact her or Mark about panel donations.
  8. New Logo

As has been mentioned, the squished fonts, weird spacing, and who the heck has blue eyes like that? This could probably be saved (not the original idea but the name) by going towards a more retro 60s look with a handy little clip art man and some dynamic fonts. Love....Jill
  9. Pittsburgh World of Wheels 2010

Hey folks it's almost time for the annual World of Wheels in Pittsburgh. If you are interested in participating in the charity panel jam please contact Mark Swartzlander @ 724-822-5060. He is heading up the pinstripers once again and it is a real blast to attend. Love....Jill
  10. square foot pricing?!

I sell by the job and by the advertising value the customer is getting. I haven't sold by the square foot since the very early 90s. I know what it costs to produce the item and I know how long it will take me to make, and I charge accordingly. I sometimes when doing an estimate will revert to...
  11. Sandblasted sign

As always, Tater, you knock my sox off. You have a very distinctive style which is always pleasing. Love....Jill
  12. Gumby creator dead at 88 :(

I still have my Gumby (the point on his head is slightly chewed) but Pokey went missing when I took him to Kindergarten one day. I still mourn his loss. Love....Jill
  13. New Guy from PA, knows nothing

Don't expect to get rich making magnetic signs here in PA. Most people get them from Kinko's for $39/pair. There are "sign companies" on Craigslist and the Internet who sell them cheaper than that. What is your background? Do you have any art ability/training? Do you own any design...
  14. Just lost my best friend

Sorry to hear about Digger, Dave. Birds can be real characters. I know you will miss him. Love....Jill
  15. Our New Sign Proposal

With a name like that and if doing full color I would put in a glorious sunrise, cliche as it sounds. Love....Jill
  16. Font ID please

Reminds me of Brody/Brophy but it's not. Love....Jill
  17. I haven't a clue ???

I'd say Goudy that someone skewed slightly. But I have been eating the brown acid again. Love....Jill
  18. Gilders tip....now what?

I suck at gilding but I have always thought Dave Smith's gadget made it look easy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYUnWLijNjo And I really like the lefranc size as opposed to the 1S. Love....Jill
  19. Font suggestions for menu?

It's just layouts via pdf for printing on paper pages. Thanks for the suggestions so far. Here's his logo that I did last year.
  20. Font suggestions for menu?

Hi. I have to lay out a 5-page menu for a local restaurant. It is a small restaurant in a small town, serving basic yet tasty stick-to-your ribs type breakfasts, sandwiches, and starters. Right now they use Monotype Corsiva, and I think it can be quite hard to read, especially for the older...
