  1. CJV30-130 Lose colours when head or cutter joint hits media

As long as your maintenance station is in proper working order, a simple cleaning should recover the head and if not a nozzle wash should. If it doesn't, most likely the maintenance station is in bad shape.
  2. CJV30-130 Lose colours when head or cutter joint hits media

When the head strikes the media it clogs and damages the nozzles. Head strikes should be avoided at all costs. The reason magenta is the first to be affected is because it is on the leading edge of the head which hits media first and takes most of the brunt. Media buckling is the major cause...
  3. Quality issue vj 1614

That's classic cross-contamination. The most likely issue is the damper is failing but try this first. You need to clean everything (Bottom of head, Cap top, Wiper) to rule out dirtiness as the issue. After that, I would test the maintenance station to make sure it is not clogged. It may allow...
  4. Print problem

Bad vinyl happens. I have received bad rolls at one point or another from all of the major brands. It's what they do to fix it that separates the good from the bad. Let them know what's going on and see what they say.
  5. Print problem

I would say this is defective or old vinyl. Almost like the adhesive is failing. What type of vinyl is this? Removable? Permanent? Either way, it shouldn't do that. It could be heat settings but even a bad heat setting wouldn't cause the vinyl to do that unless it was already defective.
  6. High Tack Vinyl Help

+1 on the Arlon DPF8000. I have had customers use it for the same type of application; Steel panels in Alaska for over a year and they still were sticking.
  7. SP540v Will not print red and yellow. Cant get the ink to flow to dampers

It sounds like your cap top might be clogged. When you pull from the cap top tube with the syringe, do you get a lot of resistance or do you pull a lot of air with no resistance? If you get a ton of resistance but no ink comes through, there is a clog in the cap top/cap top tube and/or the head...
  8. MAC Media mainboard repair sevice - No response SCAM??????

We have had bad experiences with Mac Media and have lost boards. In this case he is either stiffing you like he did to us or he went on his annual trip to Korea for a few weeks and didn't tell his customers which he has done to us before as well. I don't think he does it on purpose. I just think...
  9. Looking for input regarding going 100% mobile - no brick-and-mortar

One thing to keep in mind is that you are going to need to build a jig for your printers and cutters if you have them. The reason is, most people just strap the machines down when they are traveling. This puts torsion on the Y axis bar of most cutters and printers which will cause you to have...
  10. Re: Roland xc540 message at start up

Turn the machine on while holding the cleaning button. Once it boots up, scroll through the menu to find wiper replace. The printer will walk you through replacing the wiper. If you already replaced it, just keep hitting enter and this will clear the wiper flag.
  11. Ink chips

Third party ink manufacturers tend to sell the chips separately. Not all but some do. I would try Bordeaux first as I have ordered chips from them before.
  12. Artwork Proofing Software

If you have a subscription version, this is a new feature that comes free. If not, you could upgrade and get this function. See link below: Flexi Artwork Approval Tool
  13. Pringing packing tape on mutoh 1324.

I think the real problem with this solution is that vinyl has a backer. This means the client won't be able to use a tape gun. To me that is a deal breaker. Google, "custom packing tape" There are a lot of places doing it and I bet you can get wholesale pricing.
  14. SP-300 Print Problem

I have seen this happen a few times on other brands of machines that use the same heads. More Likely: I would double check the dampers first. If you see any air bubbles at all, even a very tiny one, in the ink lines, you have an air leak and that is most likely causing the issue. The damper...
  15. How to get rid of media buckling when printing 98" or wider?

I'm a big fan of feed and take-up systems on printers bigger than 64". A good example would be the heavy duty take-up and feed system on the Mutoh 2638. It basically senses when the roll has tension on it and automatically rolls off a little bit more vinyl off the roll. It does the same on the...
  16. Nozzle dripping ink

Cut the dimple off with scissors so that the o-ring has a nice fresh piece of line to seal up with. You want to cut as close to the dimple as possible to avoid cutting too much line off.
  17. Nozzle dripping ink

Normally when ink drops from the head it's a damper issue. Check the dampers to make sure the o-ring didn't fall off during install, the membrane didn't get punctured, and/or the ink line got kinked and broke open. Don't just assume you installed it properly. Most of the time I give damper...
  18. Contaminated Orajet 3751GRA ?

I have had 2 customers recently have issues with the 3751. In both cases we rolled about 10 - 20 feet off and the issue went away. Must be something going on at the factory.
  19. Mimaki JV150-160 Ink reset

Using any kind of device or software to trick the machine into using expired ink does void the warranty. Weigh the pros and cons of that before you try to save a few bucks.
  20. Old "Dead" Printer - What to do?

We sell used SP300Vs more than any other used printer. They are one of the best in my opinion. Your machine probably needs about $2000 in repairs which mostly reflects the cost of the heads and if you do the work yourself. If you can get one or both of the heads firing, definitely don't throw it...
