It looks like a head alignment issue. I'm not sure how big that print is but it seems to be off by quite a bit. It could be a simple as adjusting the horizontal alignment of the cyan head but without being there, it's hard to say what else might be off. When realigning the heads, it's always...
You could change the dampers to rule that out as an issue. It's good to change them anyway if they are older than a year or two. It could be a pump but they rarely go out. Check to see if the pump is clogged by flushing it with cleaning solution. Sometimes it can be partially clogged so flushing...
The maximum media thickness for that machine is 1.48mm. Your standard 1/8th inch coro is more than double that thickness. Even if you just want to score it, you will have to lift the blade holder up to an unnatural position, cover the media sensors to trick the machine into thinking it is loaded...
This is something you should be able to adjust in the RIP. Mimaki printer cutters call it simply, Sort and it's a box you just check. It looks at the job and figures out the most efficient way to cut. Rolands should be similar. Basically when sort isn't checked, the RIP cuts in the order you...
You need to run the main PF adjustment first and then the micro adjustment to fine tune it. The main PF adjustment prints 2 lines 500mm away from each other. You measure the actual distance and then input that into the printer. Then you can run the confirm print to see if it adjusted properly...
The SP300s do not work with Versaworks but there are a lot of SP300 machines out there that have been converted to an SP300V but the sticker still says SP300 so it can be deceiving.
They don't normally write the part number on the head itself. There are a couple ways to tell which version of head you have. The easiest way being to compare the cable terminals. If you take the head out, look at the terminals where the head cables plug into. There will be some white vertical...
That would be a DX5 head but unfortunately there is more than 1 version of DX5 head. Depending on how OCE handles the firmware, it could require a very specific DX5 print head and if you put the wrong one in, it won't damage the machine but it just won't print correctly. The heads are a little...
The new rollers should help a little especially if the old ones were really worn down or dirty.
Did you also run the micro pf adjustment? I would run that before anything else to make sure the PF is spot on. Then double check that the RIP is not overriding the PF adjustment. If all of that...
You got it. Just remember, Photoshop is fine to design in as well as Illustrator. It's not about which one should you design in, it's use the right tool for the job. I prefer Illustrator to Photoshop mostly because I started my education with Illustrator and am comfortable with it. But I still...
Check to see if the driver dialog has a preset for perf cut. Right now you may have it on cut 1 or cut 2 but there might be a perf cut specific preset that tells the software to send the different cut pattern.
In my cross country days when I was running at least 10 miles a day and could run a 5k in 17 minutes, I think I could have finished maybe one and a half laps. It takes a special person to finish that race. I love how the creator was asked, "Why did you name it the Barkley Marathons?" He just...
Did you try all of the USB ports? It doesn't find it automatically. You have to try each port until it works. Primitive, I know. Also, Versaworks does not like USB hubs. If you are using one, find a way to connect the printer directly to the computer USB port.
I think it would be better to troubleshoot the print/cut issue. I'm not sure if that printer measures the pinch rollers or the media itself but if it works like older Rolands, you should be able to just move the right pinch roller to the left a little and it will measure the material slightly...
72 DPI will look fine if you are designing at 100% scale although I see a lot of people use 150. The only reason I see needing to go any higher is if you are designing a file that is going to be scaled up like designing at half scale and setting the DPI to 300 so that when it is blown up to full...
The difference is that the solvent paper doesn't have a special coating other than what makes it glossy or matte. Water based inks require a coating for the inks to adhere properly. Solvent inks eat that coating away and the ink rubs right off. Solvent was made specifically to print on...
