  2. Production manager "holds" instead of "sends" prints?

When you send the job from the designer over to the production manager there should be an option to the left in the layout screen that says to send now or hold.
  3. anybody got a machine they're parting out? I need a waste tank

Oh shoot. You probably could have rigged the sensor. Oh well OEM will work for sure anyway.
  4. Issue with HP360 and Flexi Production Manager

Ok that makes sense now. That is odd. Maybe there was an OS update recently or even a Flexi update that glitched something out. You could always try re-installing but obviously that can be a time drain.
  5. Issue with HP360 and Flexi Production Manager

It's a little confusing how you described how you use Flexi. So you setup the file in the production manager and then, somehow print from Flexi to another software package? I didn't think that was possible. Either way, you might want to check your power settings. Most pieces of hardware can have...
  6. Anyone have optimum settings for cutting small detailed type

Slow the speed down, use a 60 degree blade, and use an easy to cut font like san-serif fonts. Usually the rule is, if the text is shorter than half an inch tall, you will get unreliable results not matter the settings.
  7. anybody got a machine they're parting out? I need a waste tank

You don't want to spend the $150 bucks on a new bottle!? Ha ha. You can make your own as long as the plastic it is made with says, "PE" on it. Just get whatever size bottle you want, secure it, and run the hose to it. You don't get to use the sensor but a lot of printers work that way and people...
  8. Roland Peck4 tool needed very badly

CoPeck tool 7.1 is available on Roland's website under the VP series download section if that helps. VP-540 Downloads it's at the very bottom.
  9. Head change - DIY video?

Service mode is needed to be able to run the alignment prints. It gives you an extra menu with all kinds of settings and such that are not available to user mode.
  10. Head change - DIY video?

TIPS: 1. Before you do anything, unplug the printer and hit the power buttons a couple times. Now wait about 10 minutes and you are ready to start working on the machine. 2. When taking the dampers off the head, use a flat head screw driver as a lever to push up on the tab on the left side of...
  11. Head change - DIY video?

That is a classic ploy to get you to spend the extra dough on their heads. Whether he knew it or not, your tech definitely fibbed on this one. He was probably told the lie from Roland from how much I have been hearing it lately. A DX4 head is a DX4 head. If it doesn't fire within spec at the...
  12. Mutoh just not getting it done with the reds

Your dealer and tech are wrong. They most likely told you that you can't hit the red because they don't know how to do it. And believe me, just because someone says they are tech doesn't mean much these days. I have met techs from Bell and Howell, who Mutoh contracts out to do their service...
  13. CJV150/CJV300 Pre-Cut, Possible or not?

The feature allows you to cut and then print over the cut. The idea is that it cuts down on edge curl by releasing the inherent tension in the vinyl before the solvent softens it.
  14. Mutoh just not getting it done with the reds

If you have your machine professionally profiled, it will print vibrant red. Mutohs, Rolands, Epsons and Mimakis all use the same technology and extremely similar ink so comparing brands based on color output is hard to do. The difference is in how the printers are setup, how the software...
  15. CJV150/CJV300 Pre-Cut, Possible or not?

It's definitely doable. I don't have a Rasterlink computer near to look at but if I remember correctly, it's in the composition tab. You just need to reverse the layers so that the cut happens first.
  16. Roland VP 540 replacing mainboard - no power - help needed SOS

My first thought is that you didn't take the battery out of the old board in put it in the new board. I would check that first.
  17. Best Code Free Web Creation?

If you have a domain already all you have to do is go to your domain provider and change the DNS records. Wix provides the proper name servers and you just copy and paste.
  18. Looking at getting a TrueVIS SG 540 and the dealer wants to charge me...

It all depends on your market. Here in Denver we compete with a few of the major distributors and we are more of a mom and pop. Our selling point is that we setup, train and support all for free. Shipping is always paid by the buyer but we have special pricing on shipping through FedEx which...
  19. Mutoh 1638x using 7color?

What do you need to know? Here are the basics - Light Cyan and Light Magenta do not expand color gamut whatsoever. It is common for sales people to say it does. These colors simply make transitions look smoother especially in skin tones and certain gradients. Most modern printers, including...
  20. Roland Soljet PROIII Print & Cut XC-540 - VALUE?

The main problem is that you can get a brand new, modern, fast, high quality, easy to maintain printer these days for $10,000 - $13,000 usually. This makes purchasing a decade old machine with 6 expensive heads that is slower than it's modern counter parts not a good deal. Even though the heads...
