I actually enjoy cleaning up customer's artwork, to sit at my work table and use a Wacom in Illustrator/Photoshop is relaxing. It makes life easier when reproducing the cleaned up logo with clean lines and colors. I use the Timer on my IPhone to see how long it takes me and charge accordingly.
Wow, this post was intense. Started off with one of man's seven deadly sins, Greed. Had the return of JillBeans, Lust. Then ended up with two more, Pride and Anger.
It shows our industry is alive with good people, Four out of seven is not bad. Would say that was a really good day at the track...
I use BriteLine med tack from Grimco and it seems to work good on all vinyls including the 3M 7725 with the clear backing and Arlon etch material that also has the clear liner.
If I am doing small copy I will take the transfer paper and lift it off the backing to make sure all the pieces lift...
Make a layout and pattern, buy some gatorboard and cut them out on a bandsaw or jigsaw, prime and paint them and glue them on the area you knocked down. That's about as cheap as you will get for a temporary sign.
BTW, there was someone on here last week with information on how they painted...
My constructive post would be agreeing with bob on this "outgassing" thing that has been discussed many times over on here.
The OP was asking for photos, not some scientific fact finding tour you were taking us on. And then your PeeWee comment on me being a troll and bad artwork even takes it to...
Signs365 color matching won't kill you like the burgers and fries from McDonald's.
I send them .pdf files and colors are perfect. I get banners and vinyl from them, I have a printer but for large things they save me time.
But like with anything you order online, there always will be screwups...
I used NazDar enamel solvent base ink, I think it was 5900 series and thin with their thinners or I used the matching one shot lettering enamel. But paints have changed a lot since I screened printed anything. Let dry overnight and it holds up great for guilding. Just make sure you have "snap"...
I am having a rough time keeping up with this story. Two new printers down during a big job you outbid someone on. Your other 500 series is working good and you went with new 300s and they are breaking down. Years ago I had a HP5500PS printer and swore I would never buy a HP again. I know people...
There is a challenge to arc welding aluminum and a steep learning curve. I would find someone in your area that does this sort of thing and have them do it for you.
I use this guy and his six friends when weeding small stuff. Have a Summa and use 3M 7725 which has a clear plastic backer instead of paper and it weeds small stuff with ease. Also fonts like Times are bad compared to Helvetica or sans serifs.
