This is a requirement around here for street banners. Double stitched hem with webbing, re-enforced corners & D rings. You have to either find a supplier who can do them or have a local industrial sewing shop (some who does boat tops or the like) to do them.
We have retail clients whose weekly orders get completed and delivered Saturdays, so one guys work week is Wed-Sat. And I am here working on layouts, billing etc.
So if someone asks if we are open Saturday it's a judgement call.

I agree, you should find a local vendor for a project like this. You will have more control and if you develop a good relationship it will pay off on future projects.
The customer isn't always right. That's a nice looking bench and anything done to it will ruin it. And the point that the first person to sit on it will block the message is correct. And finally I'll it's not just the bench, but the whole area that is non smoking. So that column to the right...
I think the label maker suggestions are your best bet. My concern would if they will withstand the moisture/cold. There are some spray clears you could use.
Personally I think since you are making these in such small custom batches you should just get some sharpies in different colors and write...
I have done side jobs since I have been in this business, as is common with most skilled trades. The only glitch here is she signed and agreement to not freelance. As long as you trust the employee and have a discussion about it and come to an agreement as AK suggested I don't see a problem.
Haven't been asked more than a handful of times in 40 years, for any product. If someone does ask I use the same info as Modern. The few times I've had a problem we fixed it.
