We have a winner. Thanks Joe, Pacific had a couple quarts.
  2. Smalt Glue

Yea, he's one of the one's out of stock.
  3. Smalt Glue

Thanks. Il looked on their site and didn't see it but sent them a message.
  4. Smalt Glue

I have a glass smalt job to do. I still have plenty of smalts but can't find my can of Holdfast Oil. It would probably be rock hard by now anyhow. My usual sources (Letterhead Supply, Quill, Hair & Ferrule) for either Holdfast Oil or Smiths Cream are either out of stock (Artisan, Nepco) or out...
  5. Neon Signs Masterclass

"scoff all you want, but neon isn't going away anytime soon" Who was scoffing? We were talking about how much time & effort (and $) would it take to learn how to do it. I know a local neon guy and he has all the business he can handle.
  6. paint masking

That is a big vinyl mask. Are they spraying it? It would help to see the logo. I have provided pounce patterns that large for jobs on tanks, never a mask. If they are requesting a mask they must know what they want. So if they aren't open to other solutions, I would quote it using the right...
  7. Neon Signs Masterclass

From what I learned I figured it would be a multi year commitment to get to the basic level which is why I decided against it. Back then there was opportunity to actually produce glass that didn't have to be "perfect" because it was used to light channel letters. But now the only time neon is...
  8. Neon Signs Masterclass

There are some places that teach neon, but most of them are just introductory, meant to give an overview of the process and maybe you get to take home an art project. Really learning the craft is intensive and time consuming. I took a semester class in NYC and learned enough to know I didn't...
  9. Corel or Adobe?

I started with Gerber and then added Corel, so those are what I'm used to and still use. Like has been said, it's kinda a personal preference thing, and once you start with one it's a little hard to switch.
  10. Grimco buys...

Nope, but it wouldn't surprise me.
  11. ACM Backlit Panel

    Nice job!
  12. Vinyl won't stick to glass

Since it's a good temp for an install I would guess the glass is contaminated. As has been suggested clean thoroughly with alcohol (I've even had to use acetone on one window) and test.
  13. Any advice for two sided sticker with adhesive on front for auto or store front inside mount

Yep, just make sure the second white later is opaque. We do these on our Edge
  14. Wall Mural Quote and Method

Thanks for the follow up. I don't remember if I saw the design when this was first posted, but it's pretty simple so my quote would have been much less. And this looks like some high school kids did it. I can't tell what method was used, the edges look like spray cans and the center of the...
  15. Aggressive vinyl for cold surfaces

I'd recommend putting them on in the shop before they go out on the install, or putting them on a thin aluminum or lexan plate and pop riveting on.
  16. Billct2

Comment by 'Billct2' in media '1'

Thanks for the follow up.I I don't remember if I saw the design in the original post, but from these pics I wonder what they ended up paying. I can't tell what the method was, the edges look spray painted and the centers of the strokes look brushed. Al in all a pretty crappy looking design and...
  17. CROSSFIT

Yea, it's not a great sample, and the fonts you guys have recommended are all pretty close. I'll just tell the client either get better artwork or accept a substitute.
  18. Sign Motor - Old Sign Motor

I would get the info off it (if possible) and some photos and stop by a place that sells & rebuilds electric motors and see what they say.
  19. CROSSFIT

I cleaned it up for the online font indentifier...here's the original
  20. CROSSFIT

    uh oh...looks like I got a stumper.
