  1. Suggestions How much should I pay an employee?

I don't know, but with his skill set and depending on his personal circumstances he could easily leave tomorrow and start his own shop. So the idea of getting him vested in the business is a good idea.
  2. Price check on Isle #4

Depends on whether I am designing something or if it's an existing design. If it's strictly print and cut then maybe .60, if design/approval is involved $1 might not be enough.
  3. Need a good outdoor sign backing material

You don't say how big, but since it's a mailbox I would think you could get a piece of 1/2" "plastic" trim board at Home Depot that would work.
  4. Trump Construction Signs...

Here I just quoted these specs0 3/4" MDO, enamel painted face with matte black back, white vinyl lettering, one two color logo. That's what they asked for, that's what I quoted. If the details are less specific I use a print, but they still say 3/4" MDO. Unless the company requesting the bid is...

We did a window perf job inside a "see thru" trophy case, the case is in a wall between two rooms with glass on both sides. They wanted to be able to still see out of the back room but gain some privacy and not block the light. I was concerned if it would work the way they wanted and it doesn't...

Sounds like you have the experience and set up that should instill confidence in most clients. Working from a shop on your property shouldn't make a difference, depending on the area lots of trades probably do the same. I always think the best way to get some business, especially with you...
  10. I never wrapped before, but it's my truck ????

Your own vehicle is the perfect opportunity to see how it goes. I would choose a color that goes with the existing paint job just in case you discover that wrapping some areas is beyond your level. For instance I know someone who has a grey Mazda and they wrapped it teal, when certain areas...
  11. Question How to ship Foam-cor?

You can buy blanks cut to size.
  12. Question How to ship Foam-cor?

There are lots of ways, most involve some type of bubble or foam wrap and/or cardboard, scrap foamcore or coro protection. If you do a lot you can probably buy some boxes and sleeves meant for just that purpose. My best suggestion is to not use foamcore in the future, use PVC instead. I stopped...
  13. Substrate ID

The first looks like a version of PVC, there are or were some that had a top layer that was more finished/shiny. Ddarlaks looks kinda like Gerber lexedge, but it's not adhesive back and comes clear or white and has to be printed.
  14. Encoder Strip Cleaning

If it's like the HP aqueous encoder strips I use water and a coffee filter (as recommended by one of their techs)
  15. Peeling liner from acrylic sheet

we use paint thinner to wet it down
  16. Best way to produce this?

Yea you could spend the time to do all the research on acid etching or find someone to sandblast frost it for you...hell why not have the glass custom blown...after all it's for a vacation home in Cancun, so if they're willing to spend the money sure it'd possible, but the original question was...
