  1. Cutting Text (Specifically O and R)

did you ever accidently cut to deep & go through the paper backing? If you do this, you will cut into the teflon strip beneath it. If that gets cut, it won't be there to support the vinyl when the blade travels over that spot. If the same O and R fial the same way no matter where on the page...
  2. Just a small vent

jeeze, another 12 year old mentality to contend with here  by the way Creative, when you get older, you will understand a lot of us guys like Phuqing girls. You may too some day, so quit making a fool of yourself in your ignorance. I bought a new release of Flexi 7 for $1200 from...
  3. Just a small vent

while you guys figure out how to plug your Edge into Corel, & rip your 200 mg images to your Mimaki from Corel... ...I'll be printing $1000 a day worth of product, like I've been doing for years with that extra $1000 I wasted on software last decade...
  4. Just a small vent

Jiarby said everything I wanted to say, and better.. which is good, because I have to go to work, but really wanted someone to say it. and the other 10% of features I got from that extra 60% of costs brings in400% more profit year after year. (but it did cost and extra grand back in the 90's...
  5. How did you come to find Signs-101

Fred was a prolific poster at 4edgetalk.com. When he first mentioned taking over this site, I thought I had enough forum activity between 4edgetalk and Letterville... but I finally checked it out. It's the best!
  6. Black printing question?

I had printed some weak (& greenish) blacks when I first started printing. What I started doing was setting my cmyk values so that in addition to 100% black, I wanted to set cyan, yellow and magenta to print also. even 100% of each, although I think someone here said 40% or 60% was enough... I...
  7. Font help

In all honesty, for what it is, I can't imagine anything close would not be close enough. I haven't memorized the subtle differences between Helvetica, Ariel, or Swiss italic... but I'd try some of those first and look to the swoops of t, g and y for a match. Also, something to try on future...

  10. Contour Cut In Flexi 7.6 With Graphtec Ce3000-40

Others using the same hardware-software configuration may be of more help... but for those of us who don't have the same set-up... can you give more clues as to the registration mark detection process? I've seen a few errent plots in my time... but since I started using Flexi for a print-cut...
  11. Mutoh dumped ink waste bottle

I had a major ink cleanup yesterday. It was user error, in that I hadn't noticed the waste jug filling up, & hadn't trained the guy I've had for 90 days to check it. I'll tell you though... neither of us will EVER forget now!

  13. copying a program off computer?

I don't think you can copy the program from the old computer. The software was free, just ask graphtec to send you another disc. They might want $20 for time and trouble, but I'd bet they would help you out.

  16. SR1500 / Edge1 - Would You Buy It?

if you bought "their" plotter then you have established some trust in them I gues. I think Fred made a lot of excellent points, but you also satisfied a lot of his concerns. I've had an Edge2 for close to 8 years & use it almost everyday still. I would want another one if I sensed it starting...

  19. My personal truck wrap for work

well, you already took a beating posting that here... but one must admit, you have left youself open to a number of justifiable critiques from which you can learn. Now that you have to suffer the reality of critique, do yourself a favor and don't deflect that advice with excuses... embrace the...
