  1. Graphtec Contour Problem

ok, I see you're still on-line, so a few more ideas... with any design huh? ...that sounds bad.. so, when it's 1/16th off... it is still exactly a 2" x 3" cut... but it is 1/16th out over from the print? ...or is it 1/16th shorter then 3" and with step and repeat, IN FLEXI... the space...
  2. Graphtec Contour Problem

so they are 2" x 3", and you have a "row" with slightly over 30" of print area containing 10 of these "squares". even if you print just one row, 4 cuts are off by the same amount. (in the first post, you mention the 5th is only a little off, but the 10th is off by half, or 1-1/2"??) if...
  3. Graphtec Contour Problem

ok, I drew one example of what I think you might mean. Maybe you can draw one that corrects my perceptions if they are wrong, which they probably are. In my drawing I started to draw cuts that were off on the width & it made so little sense to me, that I changed my drawing, but I think...
  4. Graphtec Contour Problem

I'm pretty much stumped, but I will admit that from all your postings on this thread so far, I don't feel that you've explained yourself well enough for me to be sure I understand. You mention squares, & you mention 12 x 12-1/16 ...but then you draw us a row of rectangles. You also mention...
  5. Colorcamm

if you do a search on this and other forums... you will find the vast majority opinions will range for advising against it, to serious bashing of that technology. The main issues I am aware of are banding & the far more expensive costs per square foot... even compared to the edge, which is now...
  6. HELP!!! Cutter seems to have a mind of its own.

different animals. One works, one doesn't!
  7. I am new and need advice.

looks like you are dealing with a specialized professional outfit. I looked for reference on their site to their own need for licensing agreements with TRON or whoever owns that artwork. I suppose you would not be out of line asking them to prove to you that they have those licenses in place. If...
  8. HELP!!! Cutter seems to have a mind of its own.

To upgrade a a plotter that's paid for itself over and over... but is performing below standards today is not a personal jab, it is experienced advice. The professional machines have their own forums because this is a professional community & these are the manufacturers this forum...

  11. Photoshop question

select the stop sign, copy it, open new window, paste it. Go back to photo, go to image menu, to "mode".. change to greyscale. (everything will turn to greyscale) Now change back to RGB (everything will stay greyscale)... now I think the original red stopsign will still be in the clipboard & can...
  12. Anybody recognise this effect?

that looks like it might be an outline of a letter done with a chrome bevel. There are lots of tutorials on creating that type of chrome look. In the inside of the letter are the wire textures, that could be 2 different layers behind the chrome letters. The diagonal lines look just like...
  13. New To All Of This

are you for real? are you an adult? art director? for what? or who? ...what did you "direct"
  14. New To All Of This

buy low, sell high... nothin' to it. "cutter that requires minimal maintenence?" ...well, a suggestion for getting one of the top 3 brands didn't seem to catch your attention, but Ken's had his cheap alternative work out... so "look into" that! Oh wait, you said "you dont want problems"...

test it out then & report back. Try both blades.
  16. how to print a color chart versacamm

it's a pretty basic concept... you can make your own too... it doesn't matter whoose you use, if theirs is the same as some other, or if not... as long as the swatches really are the CMYK values they say they are... then you can benefit from it.
  17. JV3 media sensor

my retaining tabs are gone too... but the sensor just floats there & works. When the tabs broke, it got dislodged & created some concern until I located the source of the trouble. I bought a new one right away, but it's sitting in a drawer, & won't be installed until I have firther problems...
  18. New at this.

in my experience, a lot of seriel/usb adaptors were for PDA's & don't work on plotters, but high speed communication ones are the ones to look for. I think Belkin makes both. I also think seriel ports are very cheap to buy... even as cheap as the adaptor maybe.
  19. how to print a color chart versacamm

I think you can download a chart at printingdigital.net it was vector artwork, so the file size is not too much & the print size is whatever size you want. It's an array of swatches of varied CMYK values that are noted in the margins, so it is a substitute or an accessory along with a Pantone...
  20. having problems hooking up desktop monitor to my laptop...

orbs!! Jill... are you out there? I know you have posted about mysterious orbs in photos before... well, I shot 2 pics 10 seconds (or less) apart... one without & one with a flash. There is an orb behind one arm of my green monkey critter, but only in the flash shot. There is nothing...
